Some of you guys don’t understand how VGUs are born

Riot ONLY moves forward with a VGU when they have a solid theme established for the rework. This obviously means that, with champions like Mordekaiswr, they don’t have an established direction for a VGU.

But, if you’re into the whole self-victimization thing, feel free to whine on the boards about how Riot hates Morde mains or something, totally not obnoxious at all!

A tiny bit of summoner 13, at least from my perspective as a VGU vet... It's not about theme, per se. It's about going into production, officially committing to making something. That's usually when we'll announce it to players. The DNA pod could have theme locked for months before that happens. As we type I'm working on champs that might not be announced until next year. Things may change, but we have a direction.

Why work this way? I think the idea is, the only thing worse than silence would be to take something away from you all that we've already promised. The longer we wait, the more momentum a project gets, the less likely that'll be to happen.

I'm pretty sure Malphite's theme is set in stone. Why not give him a rework?

They should expand on the pizza feet angle. There is room for expansion on that front. For real though, riot should take the initiative and fix him up.

As a Pantheon main, my most eagerly awaited is Pantheon. For years I’ve eagerly awaited his announcement. Once I noticed this “not following tiers and just going with who the found a good direction” for, I knew Pantheon was going to be a lot farther out.

I don’t see any of the Rioters mention him in enthusiasm or passion. Meaning, he’s less likely to get a good direction on him because they’re interested in other champs.

And you know what? I’m ok with that. I’d rather every champ that gets worked on is by people who are enthusiastic about it. I want it to be fans updating these champs.

When you see these Rioters talk about the champs they’re updating with such passion... you just know it’s in good hands.

Hopefully his time will come some day. And hopefully it’ll be badass.

Do you work for Riot? How did you get this advanced insight that none of us has? It's not the lack of creative vision they have for champions like Morde that bother us. It's the lack of effort they are putting into it to begin with.

So you're telling me angsty teen that wants to kill everything ( Aatrox ) and angsty teen that doesn't like listening to people ( Akali ) are "solid themes"?
