I'm not necessarily talking about individual characters, or particular factions. I'm talking about the League of Legends.
Are you planning to develop/re-work its lore? Or is the League of Legends merely a thing of the past?

It's not like it was bad, sure it wasn't Great but it was by no means an incompetent set up, the coolest part of the old LoL lores is that it fixed the awkwardness of the champions/heroes/whatever talking to thin air when moving or attacking, but nope they wanna get rid of that.
Also they will need to rework a huge amount of champs' lores, give new explanations to why they even exist (
and 
alike I think) and redo some of their quotes as well because of the mentioning of summoners. Also RIP 
's humor.

Fried Noob8 votesThe main issue (and one of the driving forces behind the lore rework) was that champions joining the League felt forced or out of character. Take Lissandra. Why the fuck would she ever want to join the League of Legends? She's been hiding her true self for hundreds of years, but fuck it, fighting in a battle arena under the control of summoners is more important than keeping the element of surprise and completing my plans. Or look at Nami. I need to find a moonstone to save my people, but fighting in a battle arena is more important than devoting all my time to finding this important artifact. Hell, even Morde has no reason to be in the League. He's suppose to be a general of the Shadow Isle, but fuck leading my army, let's fight in a battle arena instead. While there are arguments for keeping the old lore, there are just as many valid arguments for its removal.
DG Ashabel3 votesI don't think anyone, including people who are severely against the retcon such as myself and CupcakeTrap, ever said anything about the old lore being objectively good. It erred more on the side of "so bad it's awesome". It has a whole lot of goofy moments and it provides this platform for peaceful political resolutions, except everyone ever is a super-influential powerhouse so it's not that platform can do anything to hold them back. Most importantly, it provided an excellent reason for all characters in the cast to interact with each other regardless of where they lived in the world and how they connected to each other.
It was Game of Thrones by the way of Saturday morning cartoons. That's what made it great.
The new lore... I guess it's trying to be super-serious grimdark heroic fantasy? IDK maybe I'll figure it out whenever Rek'sai, Gnar and Kalista get actual lore instead of a bunch of lazy foreshadowings, Rek'sai's lore descriptions of Shurima stop contradicting Sivir and Azir's lore of Shurima, and whenever they make a half-hearted attempt at rebooting everyone and forcing them into factions.
What I'm saying is, if I'm going to go watch something bad, I'd rather watch The Room or the 1980's run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Instead Riot replaced my tickets with something that is firmly in-between Michael Bay's Transformers and Cutthroat Island.
The old lore was so bad it was awesome. The new lore is alternatively boring and terrible, but with a bunch of noisy special effects that try to conceal it. Guess which one we would rather have.

Characters in LoL have the game of LoL and the lore of LoL to support their narrative...so it should do just that, which in the new lore, it kinda doesn't.

we could see Riot games be Riot GAMES and get more character focused titles.
I would totally play an Action game following Draven rise the fame 
and Darius rise to power 
and further exploits.
LoL's setting is already an odd kitchen sink lovecraftian-steampunk/magitech-science-fantasy with pirates AND ninjas. It can in fact lend its setting to a lot of different game genres.
A-RPG RTS FPS Stealth (in the vein of MGS) Air Combat Mech Combat Somethin' for the kiddies with Yordles A cute phone game with Poros #MORE
The games large cast can be broken into solo games, as well as games with smaller groups of heroes (champions).
Not only that but now we can RESOLVE conflicts. X wants to kill Y and they can do that.....and still have the chance to play out the drama in the other direction if people want to see that story. And since there is "skin canon" and "skinverses" you can even draw on those alternate realities.

How much of that do you NOT think is going to happen? They cant remain a one game company forever and keep growing, they may have a flagship title but they need more. Not only that it's easier to make more stuff related to league than to create utterly new ips.

I guess I doubt a lot of it. With how long it takes for content to be released, I just can't believe Riot can create something to satisfyingly justify this mess in any manner close to "timely." Sure, Riot can make spin-offs, but how many spin-offs were truly impossible before tossing the origin's premise down the garbage disposal? Will this reverse-Smash Bros. gambit even work?

There are a lot of people trying to break into it, a lot of them have absolutely no idea what they're doing in terms of marketing or game design, and the result is that people are very careful about choosing what to play.
Not to be harsh, but they would need to perform twenty times better than they're doing right now in order to not get torn apart.

We're still summoners. We're summoning old legends to fight for unknown reasons. I guess personal gain for most. The league still exists, but not in the same time as the champions.

Only lore update we got was amumu's long lore on pbe. but thats nothing, nothing that they promised us so many times. League of Legends lore is gone and buried. Only now its just focused on gameplay.
