Gangplank "As unpredictable as he is brutal, the self-appointed reaver king known as Gangplank rules Bilgewater through a mix of fear, violence, and cunning. Where he goes, death and ruin follow, and such is his infamy and reputation that the merest sight of his black sails on the horizon causes panic among even the hardiest crew."

Graves "Malcolm Graves is a wanted man in every realm, city-state, and empire he has visited. Tough, strong-willed, and above all, relentless, through his life of crime he has amassed (then invariably lost) a small fortune."

Twisted Fate "Twisted Fate is an infamous card sharp and swindler who has gambled and charmed his way across much of the known world, earning the enmity and admiration of the rich and foolish alike. He rarely takes things seriously, greeting each day with a mocking smile and an insouciant swagger. In every possible way, Twisted Fate always has an ace up his sleeve."

ffs, i understand they are in-game lore entries, but remember when we used to have beautiful long in-game lores that were actually fun to read during queue or something?

Like look at Alastairs in-game lore. A little shorter than what I'd like, but still fuckin BEAUITUL compared to these 3 sentence cliche DESPITE ALL THESE CHALLENGES (x) HAS (x) TO PULL THROUGH/WHAT IS (x) DOING HERE? NOBODY KNOWS/WHEREVER (x) GOES, (x) HAPPENS

i bet i could write an in-game lore for every champion that follow suit with these motifs in like 5 minutes perchamp

I'm going to write the new updated lore for Xin Zhao.

Xin Zhao was kidnapped by Noxians. In Shurima. Then he escaped to the Freljord. He has a dark and mysterious past.

Gangplank looked beyond the starboard mast, furrowing his brow as concern rushed into his phyche. This was no oridinary storm. He knew this storm, he had been expecting it. He rushed beyond the capstan to the forward bow to address his crew.

"Raise t' anchor! Turn her around! We can't stay here!"

His voice bellowed across the recently calm ocean; waves began picking up and an ominous mist had settled upon the tense waters.

"Captain what be this? Let us go forth, we must return t' Bilgewater! Ye can't afford t' miss that wench's deadline-", First Mate Billy began, but was cut off by a sharp raise of the finger by Gangplank. Horror filled the captain's eyes as he watched a childhood myth unfold over the sea. Small flames illuminating the rising fog were quickly surrounding the vessel. This was not the first time Gangplank had heard of this happening however, as he quickly raced his mind to recall a legend that all seabearers heard as children.

_The Black Mist. A spectral rider's merciless rampage over the waters beyond the western coast. The calling of the Titan to bring down fleets of ships. _

As if on cue, a deathly omnipresent voice had cut through the heavens, piercing fear into every last member of Gangplank's crew.

"Your life is a burden. I shall bring you freedom"

A bloodcurdling scream is heard on the ship as large, torn, deathly masts are barely visible through the fog of war all around Gangplank's ship. Every member of the crew looked to their captain for morale, and saw a sight they did not expect.

"Ready th' cannons! Be off to ye posts! We have a deadline to meet!", he roared, as the look of terror was replaced by a grin, and a visage of a determined man.

idk just something that's anecdotal is much more appealing to read than the 3 line stories. If you're going to put something on the champion's page in the client, put something with emotion. Something that FITS the character, instead of a few boring lines.

I loved gnar's bio, with Rengar. That had emotion. That was the last good bio.

Short Bios =/= Actual lore

Short bios in the client are fine because they are not the actual lore, rather just short descriptions of champions in the same way you have descriptions of champion abilities. Its task is not to fully describe a character to you, its just there to give short answer for each character.

Short bios are lacking because they are designed in that way and thats their job. To make you want more.
