Not for his gameplay, that is in a good spot. I am talking about his visuals, voice, and story.
Remember old Sion? He was basically a parody of Arnold Schwarzenegger with some bad zombie puns thrown in there.
Shaco is a similar case, except he is a parody of the Joker, with a bunch of corny magician/clown jokes.
His model is old, his lore pretty much says that we don't know anything about him, and he has only a few more lines than Alistar.
DwarvenGiant1 votesRiot are currently staying away from 'pure VUs' (e.g: Karthus, Twitch), because they have recently found that there's more value in updating the visuals of champs with gameplay updates in development- So it's safe to say that until Shaco's slotted for a Sion-level update (They probably won't start working on him before late 2016), he's not getting any major Visuals changes, unless maybe, just MAYBE, he'll participate in some lore event. But I can't see that happening in the near future as well. :P

Fiora and Tristana also got gameplay updates alongside their VUs,but they aren't Sion level(fiora didn't even receive new animations or anything like that).
And well shaco is also a champ that could need a gameplay update anyway.
DwarvenGiant1 votesOkay, yeah, you have a point. :P BTW, Fiora was kind of Tristana's opposite when it come to the development of their updates- The idea for Fiora's gameplay update came first, but then they saw an opportunity to really push her visual theme forward, so it's more like that her VU came alongside her Gameplay Update- So yeah, all in all, champion updates vary from one another.
