About the Lore and Bard: Mountain
Hi. I was about to answer a comment in /r/leagueoflegends, i mean this one:
Also there's cliches out the ass. Demacia is where all the knightly white people live. Noxus is the spooky bad guy place. Zaun and Piltover are in my mind the most creative and have a lot of creative growth possible, but they really need to make the world less basic.
The discussion was about the lore and the cities involved. This was my response:
Well actually the addition of chaotic good characters like Lucian, Vayne and Quinn, all from Demacia, added a bit of depth there. Noxus is pretty standard at the moment. Champions from Noxus are pretty bad characterwise. Problem is, you can't define cities if you don't even have the basics. We don't know why champions are fighting, why the summoner's rift is called like that if we don't even know what summoners are, we don't know what the hell is happening in Runeterra. They messed up so much I stopped caring about lore even if i was a fanatic. They promised a lot of stuff but the only thing that came until now is chaos.
I thought I could deefine my thoughts better on this topic by creating a post here. Even if my answer above sums up my thought, there is something i have to add.
Lore now sucks. I mean it straight out sucks. Remember the Shurima event? Remember how, when it ended, every champion had a 2-lines ending and that was it? I was so mad when it came out and how low effort they put into it.
Things haven't changed a bit. We still don't know what the heck summoners are, we don't have what's happening in runeterra, we don't know anything. And it's been almost a year since they decided to re-do the lore.
Sometimes ago i read Rioters saying that the Gameplay team, the Design team and many more were working together to create champion so they could be more consistent and overall better. Why aren't the Lore guys working with them too? Don't tell me they are, because they aren't, and you can see it from Bard: Mountain.
I got mad after watching Bard: Mountain just like i did for the Shurima event ending. Let's be real, Bard: Mountain is a joke. It's a mockery to the lore fanatics. The style is good, yeah, the animations are awesome, indeed. But it makes no goddamn sense.
That video makes NO SENSE. And i mean it. I dare anyone to come here and find a good explanation for Bard: Mountain.
Oh? What? Rioters explained it saying Bard wanders through space and time and saves people who will become important? WELL WHY ISN'T THAT EXPLAINED IN THE VIDEO? Why I have to search for a Rioter to explain what the hell i just watched? I hope you guys agree that this is a mockery.
I get so mad about it because I care about lore. Or better, I used to care.
Urgot has a dark, secret past.
Yeah that's how it's gonna end up, afterall.
