Lore fans, we are moving out to the Shadow Isles

As seen in the link to the Discussion above, Jaredan confirmed that right now , the lore team in working on the Shadow Isles. What do you all think and hope that it means ? Maybe a new champ (quite likely with the all "They are coming" hassle that is going on) ? Evelynn lore update, with a Vu possibly(Lore team generally doesn't go alone, so the art team could be going with them) ? A new game mode ? Or maybe just updates to certain champs that need them ?

Maybe we'll get Thresh quotes from the alters.

I'd prefer M.Targon, but I do love the shadow isles.

Damn well better be. I don't play Yorick but I have a friend who has been really wanting that rework.

It'd be weird to have a shadow isles event and not involve Yorick's rework

Yorick won't get his update until late 2016 probably. He's ways off- A Sion-level project, which usually takes a year or more.

Yeah, I would figure. I just remembered that he's on the list, and the main outlier Shadow Isle champion that needs updating (Besides Morde, but all he needs is visuals now).

Yorick's? I don't know. I think that they're exploring his lore as a part of his update, so I suspect that he may be an exception and that he'll get a short story only with his update.

What I expect?

Mordekaiser is no longer from SI but it's a Zaunite experiment on metals gone wrong with "ghost in the machine" cliche which wields an electric empowered mace.

Hecarim is a... horse-thing who regularly betrays people for stupid things and then befriends them afterwards Mordekaiser is a man with amnesia from battling Hecarim over poro-snax, and is on a quest to regain his memory for the sake of finding out his SSN Kalista is wife from long ago, she wants to find her husband because they are still married and is with Sona at the moment Thresh is a prison guard whose obsession with chains went a little too far. I could see a new champion, but I feel it's unlikely it's anything to do with "They are coming". The teaser thing or whatever it is is just to distant from the Shadow Isles colour scheme, sound style or general aesthetic. Maybe we'll see the Ruined King himself finally? One can wonder about such things...

I doubt they're doing an Evelynn update because we know Poppy and Taric are the one's in line for the big major updates and Evelynn herself is a HUGE undertaking that those two alone kinda force her to take a back seat. I could see them actually solidifying her lore background though, but I feel it'd be more about the legends surrounding her than her actual concrete origins. Think more "the first recorded appearance of Evelynn" rather than "She was the daughter of...".

Would love to see a new gamemode for Harrowing this year, I feel like it'd be grand! Hopefully not Hexakill again; I feel like they can do more with the Twisted Treeline than that.

I'd very much like to see some updates for the Shadow Isles champs in a low scope way but those who actually need updates need BIG updates. Yorick needs SO MUCH work done, Morde's basically a full VU at this point minus the VFX, Evelynn needs a MAJOR overhaul in every department, Hecarim could maybe use a bit of love? Maybe? Hell I'd take an expanded VO for him even though I know that's a lot of work. An actual full VU for Morde might not be out of the cards though...

The main thing I'm wondering though is how fucked Bilgewater is, and what the implications are. Just who's gonna be involved here to save Bilgewater? Or maybe not? Maybe they all die? Will Nami, Nautilus and Fizz make their mark on history? Will Gangplank and Miss Fortune die? For real this time for Gangplank? Will the Bearded Lady herself get involved? (Oh please Riot I'm really digging the Mother Serpent, would love there to be more on her) Either way I'm excited to see how fucked up Bilgewater is after the Harrowing's resolved.

**EDIT: **Ah I forgot, but I feel like I'd better mention it anyway - given Harrowings are an october deal (from out standpoint in terms of skins and stuff) September might be a very quiet month for lore. We'll have to see.

I think that what ever it is, this harrowing is going to be massive, both from a gameplay point of view, but also from a lore and art one. I don't know, but my spidey sense are tinging Elise

I agree, the tree deserves some love, along with Hecarim. Evelynn and Mordekaiser need a truck load of love, and Yorick, not sure if Aphrodite could give him all the love he needs

I hope we get our answers for who is the ruined the king and what are the events that led to where the shadow isles as they are now also another shadow isles champion would be awesome to have maybe it could be the ruined king would love to play a whole skeleton king like champion like the one from Diablo.

I honestly just hope that they will do something to the current Summoner's Rift, with like a reskin or darkening (like they did with the Doom Bots). It would also be nice for Evelynn Kalista Thresh finally get altar lines on Twisted Treeline.

Once the pipeline on a couple of recently spun up teams that we're a part of are in full working order, we'll be able to pop by more often.

We've put back some of the additional work that we want to do to finish the Shurima character intros a bit to focus on some stuff that we think will give a bit more enjoyment in the short to medium term. The Shurima stuff will be coming, but we've shifted priorities to take advantage of an opportunity.

Vague, I know, sorry, but we'll speak to it further when we're able.

TL;DR Shurima stuff's put back as they're adjusting it for the new bio style (quote -short summary - bio - character piece), and Shadow Isles stuff is getting the main focus, presumably since the Harrowing's right around the corner.

Hm. So Shadow Isles will have something like GP's bio. Seeing how its my favorite faction, it does catches my attention. Anyway thats the answer I needed about the Shurima Bios. Thanks Sharjo. I suppose I could wait some more.

I expect September to be a bit of a slow month with perhaps stuff pertaining to this "They are coming" thing and maybe Fiora and Tahm Kench. Makes me kinda hyped for October though!

You know how many mins are in a month? But Idk, "They are coming" could just be reference to a new champ....or sum. Wouldnt make much sense to release a teaser a month early for an event.

Yeah new champ in September most likely, and then maybe another in october. Depends on what's planned really. I mean next month will be tuning for worlds but Gnar was released on the World's patch last year and just wasn't enabled. Plus last year we got Vel'Koz, Braum and Gnar over the course of eight months and then Azir, Kalista and Rek'Sai in half that time. So yeah, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. I still remember expecting the champion after Gnar to be the last champion of 2014, oh how wrong I was!

I think there'll be another event, bit smaller than Bilgewater in the visual aspects, comparable in lore quantity. New champion with all bells and whistles attached that isn't the main focus of the event. A temporary gamemode to show off the supposed great fight that'll come.

I don't really get excited about new lore anymore. It's saddening.
