Ashe Is Left Handed

Ashe in-game draws her arrows back with her left hand. As your dominant hand is what you use to draw the bow in archery for better accuracy, this means she's left handed. Fun interesting fact!

Also makes her a mirror of Tryndamere. Since her right arm is locked while drawing the bow and her left arm is doing all the work, her left arm would be a lot stronger than her right arm.

The thing is, Ashe's classic, Sherwood, Freljord and Woad skins all draw the arrow with her right hand. Queen, Amethyst and Marauder all draw with the left. And all of her in-game models draw with the left.

On a side note, left handed people are often more likely to become ambidextrous in real life due to the worlds bias towards right handedness among other things. So Ashe could possibly be ambidextrous and be able to use both arms to draw an arrow effectively, although her left would still likely be stronger.

Lot's of champions are actually left handed. Aatrox, Taric and DrMundo just to name a few.

Aatroc isnt left handed, his right hand if you see is diferent from the left it has abilities on its own thats why he holds the sword on the other

Destínum7 votes

Yeah, but he wields the sword with his left hand, which would make him left handed, no?

Digielf1 votes

he is forced to wield it in his left hand because if he had it on his right he wouldnt be able to use the right hand for its unique powers his left hand works like a normal hand same with Veigar he uses the staff on his left hand because the right hand has his power glove

That would still make him left handed though. Since he's obviously been using his left hand for swordfighting for a while now, it would naturally become his most accurate one. Why are you so not ok with Aatrox being left handed?

These are fictional characters made by Riot Games. They are not FORCED to do anything. They were made left handed and as such have their "gloves" on their other hand.

They put the weapon and glove in different hands balance the champion visually, and they could have EASILY drawn them with the gloves on their left and the weapon in their right. They didn't, and there is nothing in either Aatrox's or Veigar's lore that says "P.S. IS ACTUALLY TOTALLY RIGHT-HANDED BUT WAS LIKE ALL OMG I TOTALLY WANNA USE MY GLOVE AND MY WEAPON IN THE SAME HAND BUT I JUST CAAAAAAANT :( #righthandproblems "

Many right handed archers pull with their left

Sometimes people base it on eye dominance. That's correlated with hand dominance, however. It can sometimes be opposite, however.

Right handed bows you hold with your left hand and draw with your right. And visa versa for left handed bows.

As someone who did archery in the past, I was taught to pull with my dominant hand. Bow strings are surprisingly heavy. You need the strength of your primary hand to use it.

I was taught to pull with the hand of my dominant eye, not my dominant hand, since what matters is the accuracy of the eyesight; you can train the strengh of an arm, but not the dominancy of the eye...

I learned to fire a bow with my feet, just because

Also about the Tryndamere thing.... Archers use both arms simultaneously one to push and one to pull, it makes it much easier to draw a bow back. That being said who knows anything about her bow it might not have any draw weight on it! OH and also lefties kick ass!
