@Riot: Why Should I Get Invested In Lore When It Is Being Retconned?

@Riot, what is your plan to make us like lore again?

What is different about the new lore that will prevent it getting retconned again?

Granted, the TF and Graves lore you're producing for the bilgewater event is pretty awesome, but it comes across as one off lore that isn't going to be fully supported.

Considering what happened to the old lore, It really feels like the new lore between TF and Graves could get retconned at a moments notice. Why should I get invested?

Post retcon, RIot has made it pretty clear that it doesn't wan't to support established lore concepts.

It kinda makes it hard to trust that any Lore releases will have any staying power.

Why do you think they will retcon this as well? They retconned the old lore because they were forcefully shoehorned into forcing these characters to join the league, when a plethora of them had absolutely no reason. Eve, Yorick, Ryze, Annie (especially Annie) had no reason to join the league and that is why the did the retcon.

Back when they did the original lore, they mostly wrote it without any preplanning.

Now they plan ahead and want to make sure to make it right this time around.

If this is how you feel after seeing the Bilgewater event then I really don't think there's any sort of assurance Riot can offer that you'll find satisfying.
