Use skin splash art as portrait ingame and skin demos

Just a thought, some (like me) bought skins because we love the splash art of a skin as well as the model. I know I bought Battleborne Kayle long ago just from the portrait (though I do like the ingame model too but that's beside the point). But it seems a waste that we only see it once in the whole game (the loadscreen). I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to make each skin apply the splash art to the ingame portrait, would it?

On another point, there's no way to actually try out a skin, apart from buying it based on the splash art or seeing another player use it. Considering this is real $ being spent on a product, I think it's only fair if players were given a chance to try the skin.

I'm not saying asking for a free demo period of course, but what I'm suggesting is that a small window that opens up, showing that small stretch of bot lane shown in all champion skills demonstrations where you can walk the champion with the skin up and down. And maybe place 1 allied champion, 1 allied minion, 1 enemy minion and an enemy Teemo to try out retextured spells if that isn't too much to add.

I think the reason they dont do that, is because it would (could) be alot harder to tell which champ is which on that small ass minimap

There should be an option to change your own portrait and mini map icon to skin splash if you are using one for your own client only, that way it wouldn't effect anyone except yourself and I just can't see the downside of it.

It's a clarity thing. Some of the skin headshots don't look very clear crammed into a small space, and the number 1 directive with skins is that they cannot effect gameplay. The DOTA 2 community is especially wary about this, there was controversy over a cosmetic for Pudge's Rot ability that changed it from a green cloud to a black one.

I like the skin demos though, and Mikan Box makes a good point with the "own client only" thing. I'd like to see that.
