Serious Question about Swain. Requesting a lore archivist.

So I have never played swain, nor bother to check out his lore. His new kit seems vastly different than his old kit.

My question to anyone who is a lore maniac, or who is well informed about swain enough to answer, How is his new lore differn't than his old lore, and how does his new kit fit in with his old theme vs his new theme.

These are genuine questions, and I would be grateful for anyone to share there knowledge on this for me.

We don't know enough about new Swain yet to really determine how similar their lores are.

New Swain is the head of Noxus and prepares for some unknown thread.

Old Swain is the head of Noxus and has mysterious goals.

So from what we currently have there is not really much difference, but some details might have been changed around.

what about swains old backstory, can you shed some light on that? I remember reading something about him being completely mute, but a good strategist.

In depth analysis of Swains old lore: Vague, full of plot holes and horrendously under-developed.

There really isn't much else to say, of course Swain did a few things in his old lore, more than most other champs in fact. But the old lore never really shed too much light on specifics or convey details. The whole character has been popularized by non-canon fan theories, it was the only thing that kept people remotely interested in him after all these years. Examples like- Swain is a corpse manipulated by the bird on his shoulder etc.

so basically, he gave off a mysterious vibe? Idk, I can see why people might appeal to that. Sometimes its good to have a character that is not fleshed out, to allow the imagination to wonder.

He wasn't mute. He had connections to Leblanc and the black rose. He was most likely the guy behind the disappearance of Katarinas dad and the assassination of the previous grand general. He was not the one in charge of the ionia war. He liked Sonas music. He is a good strategist.

Thats about it.

Speaking of connection to lb, what exactly is that connection? Ive seen a few people talk about him and her having a love interest, but I never heard any of this before hand

They are allies in the old lore. LB most likely helped Swain to get to become the grand general(her reflection can be seen in the battle against J4,implying that she manipulated stuff there and when "swain" fought against Kievan for the position of the grand general it is possible that he was actually LB in disguise,as he used her moves).

Judging by Swains VO they still seem to be allies....for now.

Just watched the recent hidden dialogue for swain , and in it, it shows a lot of hints to leblanc trying to kill swain. Would you say riot retcon this? or does this still matchup with the previous lore

In general the connection between Lb and Swain was never really touched upon in detail. The 2 helped each other, but its entirely possible that they were just using each other for their own goals the whole time.
