What happened with Ziggs and Heimerdinger in the Piltover lore? What about yordle lore in general?

I didn't really take note of it before but both Ziggs and Heimerdinger (maybe even Rumble to a lesser degree) seem to have completely vanished from anything relating to Piltover. Do the still have anything to do with the city at this point? It was interesting to see how yordles mingled with different parts of Runeterran society but now that seems to vanish more and more as they keep getting the "only a few know that they exist" and the "they're a mystery"-tag slapped onto them, making them look very detached from the world around them and awkward in the way they can coherently interact with it. Even their very own city suddenly got retconned to become just another glade. The new 'glamour' thing doesn't help much either. There was a riot post that mentioned that for the sake of convenience all champions are able to see yordles the way they are but in that case the glamour may as well not exist. And if it did exist the interaction would feel detached as well because of a champion reacting to something different than the player. Most of the yordles are in weird position that makes it unclear what they are to Runeterra.

Poppy? Nobody really knows about her. Kled? Nobody knows about him or whether anything about him is true. Ziggs and Heimer? Their bios may not be canon anymore. Amumu? Nobody even knows what he is. The other yordles? Still within old lore that may not be canon anymore.

I know that yordle lore is going to get tackled on at one point to give more insight but so far the premise feels a bit unfitting and awkward on them considering yordles were previously established as a fairly down-to-earth race that had a clear and known presence in Runeterra and now they seem to become more and more like a bunch of elusive smurfs living in magical smurf village.

If there is any Rioter out there that has some interesting tidbits and information to share, I'd be really thankful. Right now things seems to be a bit all over the place.

The fact that they're yordles is why they were excluded; there's a lot of questions to be answered about Bandle City and yordles in general before they touched on those two.

hum... maybe people can go and said absurd, like Kled is 500 years old (come riot, that make gnar old as a dinosaur). maybe, but less she. yordle are no much different from a small mammal, they can easily end in the bottom half of the food chain. so they need protecting. do you Know riot reponse to "why teemo blinding dard works on lee sin?" they answered it made lee sin see a wonderful and colourful world, only to that his vision again.

in another words, yordles can live in a ordinary place, except that it has a fauna/flora with psychedelic proprieties. so you average valoran human can no go near Bandocity without getting high, very high.

and yes, I like science fiction, in special those where you really need a expert to see the flaw.

They rarely do all the champs of a faction at once(the only exceptions so far was Targon and more or less Shurima if you don't count the Azir-event),they left out Elise,Maokai,Eve and Yorick for the first Shadow isles update and later left out Twtich&Singed for Zaun and Sona,Lucian and Xin Zhao for Demacia.

In the case of Piltover they likely left out Ziggs and Heimer because they are yordles,so they might be updated when they do a Bandle city event or when they go back to Piltover.

So I wouldn't worry about Heimer and Ziggs not being connected to Piltover anymore(though I could actually imagine that Ziggs could be retconned into a Zaunite yordle)

well, theres seems to be the notion that while yordles exist as a race, people isn't able to really notice the difference between a human and a yordle because of... magiks, if you don't pay attention, their form goes unnoticed since they have a... magical shield of sorts? you see what you want to see but when you focus really hard on them you start seeing their true form I guess...

The idea is that they don't call attention and they can wander around without being noticed but for us, summoners, who look straight into their mind, we can see their true shape... or something like that

As for Heim and Ziggs, yes, their lore seems to be outdated BUT they are still applicable, for all we know, Heim could be one of the founders of Piltover and Ziggs could be living somewhere around in Zaun alongside Rumble

I'm more worried about Tristana and Teemo, whose lore only ties them with Bandle City and we still don't know how Bandle City ties in with the new lore... so I'm expecting a Bandle City event soon
