Maybe that's unnecessary. Look at the white rifle and the hand holding it. There is a white robotic hand shown in the picture.

That skin is probably not from Pulsefire, but Program.

It's definitely Pulsefire according the leak and according the voiceline teaser, however I agree it looks like Program or Blue Headhunter skin. But Riot gave up on not overlapping some skin concepts quite ago, so it's not surprising.

The leak was not 100% accurate, though. It said that Maokai is getting "sticky bombs" as his saplings and it called Xayah and Rakan "harpy and the phoenix".

So there is still the chance that it changed a bit. And just because it is related to the pulsefire skin with the voiceline doesn't have to mean that it's the same line. They can just link Program and Pulsefire in lore, making them enemies and therefore Caitlyn is part of the Program skin line.

We will see how it turns out, I would prefer if Ultimate skins stay unique.

EDIT: Nevermind, just saw the gameplay reveal. It clearly isn't a Program skin. So it seems Ultimate skins are not unique anymore....

Harpy and Phoenix sounds like names you'd use for them in internal development, so there's that. The leak has so far been very accurate as far as leaks go.

Maokia did get sticky bomb sapplings. If you throw a sappling in a bush, it "grows" and rushes to a nearby champion to explode, dealing two more ticks of damage after the explosion (visually it attaches to a champion).

Welp, If the skin as Legendary will end up looking better than Ultimate skin it would be understsndable.

However I think Riot might try to update Pulsefire Ezreal eventually to calm the wave.

And not just a rifle. Taking a closer look at the hand holding the rifle shows that it is a white robotic hand.

So all the fear about the pulsefire Ezreal not being unique anymore was probably not needed. It seems this skin is going to be from the program line. Don't know about it, are program and pulsefire related in lore? If I remember correctly, Ezreal was coming back from the future to stop the the machines to take over the world. Maybe these machines are the program skin line and Caitlyn is Ezreals direct enemy?

The biggest problem with the Program theory is that despite the white, the rest of what we see lines up better with Pulsefire.

With Program, the finer details of hair is replaced with cords. We see finer detail than cords in the shadows, which lines up better with either Project or Pulsefire.

The "robotic hand" is a trait shared between all 3 lines, all of which look roughly the same.

The light we can see coming off the figure matches more closely with Pulsefire's aesthetics too.

Plus there's the PBE voice teaser, where Pulsefire Ezreal's communication with PEARL gets interrupted by Cait hacking in and saying "Nowhere to hide".

Exactly, Pulsefire Ezreal's communication with Pearl gets interrupted by Cait and she says "nowhere to hide". Meaning that she is the direct opponent of Pulsefire Ezreal. While it is possible that they are opponents and still in the same skin line, it is possible that she is part of another antagonistic skin line too.

The white robotic hand clearly shares more similarity with Program than the other lines. Project has a completely other color theme and Pulsefire Ezreal is pretty different in design, too.

The white design clearly points in the direction Program for me. I am pretty sure, I bet it is going to be a program skin. I don't think that Riot wants to ruin the unique Ultimate skin for Ezreal. And Ultimates are supposed to be exactly that, unique.

While Ultimate Skins should be unique, Pulsefire Ezreal has frankly run out of unique factors.

Changing when you level up your Ultimate? 's bread and butter
Two sets of voice actors? and say hello
Particles? Most of PFE's particles are white versions of his default particles rather than anything different, making it worse than most 1350 skins.

I don't think having a unique name on a skin is enough to call it unique anymore.

Probably. Pulsefire Ezreal was sent back from the future to stop the machines from taking over the world, right? Maybe these machines he is fighting are the Program skin line and Caitlyn is now sent back to find and kill Ezreal, being his direct enemy but from the Program skin line.

Maybe all the QQ about Pulsefire Ezreal not being unique anymore was unwarranted.

Usually when we get a legendary we don't get many more unless they are all part of the theme (I.e. Star Guardian). When we got God Fist Lee Sin he was really the only skin since the Dreadnova Darius is a Hextech Exclusive.

This one might include the Pulsefire Ezreal update that Riot mentioned last year though.

Looking at the silhouette (ignoring it was Caitlyn's name in that list which was leaked), Quinn and Vayne are other potential owners.

Their weapons are different, that is true, but come on - a current-day legendary skin can easily get a remodeled weapon. Remember, we're not exactly talking Annie in Wonderland or The Magnificent Twisted Fate (lack of) quality levels anymore.

Jhin is another one, considering his physical build, the size/shape of his weapon, the portrayed mechanical arm, and whatever the bulge on his back is.

I mean, it's her gun that's the skin, all the animation and work went into her gun (rightfully so). I'm just happy to see a Cait skin where she doesn't look like a Cat in the hat dropout.
