@Riot How a small change to Galio could make a huge difference
Hey all, I am no Galio main, but I enjoy playing him from time to time and have passed lvl 4 mastery with him. He is my go-to midlaner after Kassadin. His rework has me very excited and what we have seen from his kit so far in his teaser looks like a lot of fun! But there is something that bugs me about his design...he looks awesome, its just that I can't seem to recognize the old Galio in there. But I found a small change that could help me out here: A rework is supposed to bring a champion up to the current standards (kit-wise and visual-wise) and Riot has done a pretty good job at this with past Reworks like Poppy or Warwick. If you look at the champion you can still tell thats its ,for example Poppy, who you are looking at. Why can't I seem to recognize the (now) old Galio in his updated model then? He has all the features that the old Galio had (besides from his colors): Wings, a tail, feet with claws, big fists,... to make it short: It's his face. The face is what we identify the most with a person. Now if we take a look at Galios (old) face we can see some characteristics: http://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/6.24.1/img/champion/Galio.png So I jumped into windows Paint and tried to recreate those characteristics: http://imgur.com/pKttUi2 This is what I came up with (on the left is my edited version, on the right side is Galios current reworked model). All I did was to make his lower jaw bigger and give his eyes a similar magic glow that the old Galio has. Now if I look at the right picture I see a guy with a humanlike face and dead eyes, who killed Galio and took his name. But if I look at the left picture I can recognize the old Galio in there, glancing at me with proud, because of his new body!
So what do you think of this small change? Does it help? Is it better or worse? Please let me know!
