Why I Find it Interesting That Kai'Sa Sounds "Bored" and What I Hope it Means for Lore.

While I know and understand why a lot of people are disappointed with the way Kai'Sa's voice over turned out I feel that it has some intriguing implications. Whereas it would be most expected she should be angry or strict sounding in her tone, she comes off as very calm and almost indifferent to what has happened. I see this as a way to highlight her theme of survival in the purest sense. It seems like any strong emotions that she had about her situation have over the years disappeared as a sense familiarity set in and fighting off abominations became almost more like a daily chore.

The reason I feel this has a lot of potential story-wise is because seeing her transition through different stages of emotions until she gets to this point could be fascinating. Watching her start at fear and then cycle through anger, despair, desperation, and more only to end up were she is now could be an almost somber character arc.

As well I feel it could lead to a question of self-purpose. Most of the reason she's so set on continuing to fight the Void after entering the our world is likely because that's all she's had to do for the last decade or so. Seeing as she probably can't even remember what her life was like before, going back to it would be impossible. In an ironic twist the Void is the only thing that gives her something to do or chase after in her life. In both a metaphorical and literal sense (because of her suit) she relies on the Void to keep moving forward.

It's because of these ideas that I hope the narrative team takes effort in making her lore focus on the emotional dept that must come with normalizing unspeakable horror. While I agree with many that she should look less pretty and the voiceover could use a little bit more emotion, I feel she has a lot of possibilities open to her and I hope the writer capitalize on them.
