I Think The Absence Of Content The Institute Of War Left In Lore Will Not Be Filled In The Retcon.

This saddens me, because champion judgments were really cool. Knowing about why a character would choose to become a champion in the League of Legends was pretty interesting to me, and set this game apart from other MOBAs in terms of Lore.

Hopefully, I am wrong. Sadly, their recent lore releases makes me think I'm not.

Also, Runeterra used to be this colorful world where champions would interact with one another on a constant basis (Through Journal of Justice stories).

These days we need to wait months for Riot to release lore tidbits.

I still have faith that Riot will make their lore great again...but at the pace they're going at, this game will be outdated by the time they do.

Story then, people from different places join the political arena between factions for different personal reasons. And they talk to you, the summoners, during combat as you both command or assist them in their action. The setting fits with the game as it was built around it, minions and monsters are constructs, Baron and Dragon are replica of the real ones, and shop exists to provide better equipments to the said champs if he/she is doing good hence earning the advantage over others. While it's not the best thing ever it at least make sense.

Story now, people from different places with different origins fight at one place for no reason, they have almost 0 connections to each other, nor does it give any insight to why they are all even there instead of where they would be. 0 explanation on the Summoner's Rift, Summoner's spell, shop or the reviving jungle monsters and lane minions. While champs all have social issues muttering to themselves with every step they take. Nothing makes sense.

I mean, the JoJ was pretty short lived. And even then, the vast majority of the champions never showed up because there was no way to write them into any stories.
