I will now talk about Mordekaiser visuals and how i think they could be improved in his 2018 VGU

You know how Mord looks and you all said to yourselfs. He looks like a degenarate trashcan with 2 pizza cuts stuck to his feet carrying a "mace" which is disproportionate to the rest of his model and with 2 little LED lights for eyes. The years werent kind to the Dread Emperor and even after a very questionable gameplay rework he is not appealing to the larger League audience and that is sad considering what he embodies.

The Dark Lord of Runeterra

Mordekaiser is the Leagues Big Bad, the Raid Boss, The End Game and anything you can atribute to a Dark Lord. Dark Lords are a classic fantasy enemy and exist in pretty much every popular fantasy universe in one form or another. Mord falls into the more Sauron inspired Dark Lords since he like Sauron is a big guy in even bigger armour. But why are there so many Dark Lords in fantasy? Simple they are cool, look cool(most of the time) and are evil to the core. So why is Mord so unpopular even if the general public love the type of villan he is. Welp from my point of view most of that could be attributed to his looks and certain aspects of his gameplay.

The Revenant Returns

Now i will talk about what changes i would like to see in Mordekaisers inevitable VGU and i will break this down as much as i can.

Helm - While Mords current helm is is pretty cool to begin with i myself find it way too open and revealing which retracts from the menace one should feel while fighting him. So inspired by a post i saw here ages ago i would like Mords future helm desing to be based around the current banner of Noxus. If you look at the central piece of the axe-like banner you will notice it does look like a helmet and something that would fit Mordekaisers look perfectly, add a few horns or spikes or even an Iron Crown and the always badass red eyes and you got one terrifying visage.

Body - Now in the lore Mords armour is described as ancient since it comes from a time when he was the ruler of a good chunk of Valoran. But since it is ancient its desing is also and is thus inferior to the more modern armours found in Noxus and especialy Demacia. So in the light of what i just said it would be expected that his armour was modified and added onto over the centuries to keep up with the advancement of time(and because it would look cool too). For the main brestplate i would like to see a mixture of some ancient craftsmanship and some more modern elements added onto such as addition plates or shoulder pads and such. For the arms i would love to see a very plated and very spikey look to them and a perfect expamle of what i am thinking of is the Witch-Kings gauntlets from Return of the King. The legs would follow that same model too and since i like to be all edgy and stuff would add a tattered skirt(you know what i mean). Also keep the cape and add some shadowy effects to it because Evil and stuff.

Nightfall - ah Mords favourite tool of mass murder and one of the most infamous weapons in Runeterra. Aaaaaaaand it looks like something you would find in a trash compactor. For a weapon of its legend it deserves sooooo much better. I would keep it as two-handed remove those weird spikes and model it after what Lord Mordekaiser has althou a bit smaller and making it smaller than Mord himself. Add in some runic or dark inscriptions on the weapon itself and a shadowy or a Witchfire aura and bam you have a weapon fit for the greatest conquerer in Runeterras(current) history.
