His kit feels so smooth and satisfaying. His voice is like melted vanilla. His model is among the most badass in the game. Has prob one of the most badass ults in the game. Is a toplaner. Has force lightning. His combos feel great to pull off.
All in all easily one of my top 3 favorite VGUs ever released. Great job Champions team.(NOW GET BACK TO WORKING ON MY AATROX). pls

JusticePauldrons7 votesI actually think he plays much worse over all. his numbers seem way off. His q requires he put himself in danger, but his health is too low for that. His Ult does zero damage unless you have spent the first minute prior gathering soul fragments. His scrying ability is neat, but his grabby hand just seem worse than the previous iteration of nevermove.
His ult honestly needs to give him soul fragments, and the cooldown is way to long on it for such a meh ability.
On the flip side: He looks cool as hell.

Squey4 votesHe has a shorter range now, and he snowballs or falls flat even harder then he did before. His W also feels terrible and his ult has alot of issues especially if you go a tankier build or get behind. Oh and he walks weird.
Sure aspects of the new swain are great but as a whole he needs work. He isnt finished
Phieldworker3 votes10/10 agree! I miss muh bird man (he was the first person I actually learned and was able to climb out of bronze with) but I played the new one on PBE a lot and I'm happy. I'm ready to climb the ladder with the new demon/bird man. And his stories in the lore...flawless.

I always understood it to be because he just did better there. He's a ranged sustain champ, so think of the reasons why Vlad is usually played top. He's extremely safe early game until he can live forever and deal consistent damage mid-late game. I think he gets poked down too hard mid lane against other ranged champs. But in top lane where most champs have to fully commit to trading instead of poking, Swain has lots of self-peel and can usually win the trades, plus sustain back whatever damage he took.

In what way do you think he's similar to Viktor? I'm more of a jack of all trades type player but I've been playing Viktor on/off since S3 and they really couldn't be more different for two mages. Swain is a short range mage bruiser and Viktor is a long range nuker. The only thing I can think of as kind of similar is the Q? Because they both have relatively short ranges on them, but while Swain's Q is his main damaging tool, Viktor's is more for comboing and utility.

I find their movement and general strategy to be somewhat similar. His passive + E reminds me of viktor's W in a utility sense, His R is a pumped up version of Viktor's as it's essentially a moving damage aura.
Basically, they are different kits, I'm not denying that, but I feel like the positioning needed / utility of their kits are similar in some aspects
