Who is coming ???????????? Is Koggy's dada finally going to step onto the rift ? And who is coming with him to make it a "They" ? Is this a Void event or something different entirely ?

The colors would also fit the shadow isles quite good,more than the void.

I would LOVE that to be the case, but I don't see them doing it before the Harrowing, and the time of the shadows is not yet upon us, unless they are coming about a month early.

This is not even a actual hint. The hint will definitely (maybe) come next week. The reveal the next week after. The PBE trial is after that week. Then 2 weeks go by and the champ will be release in October.

That doesn't make much sense.

Why would a champ arrive in the PBE a week after its reveal? New champs (and big champion updates) are usually revealed an hour or so before they enter the PBE.
Meddler said that the next one was somewhat pushed to after 5.18 (Worlds patch), because of Worlds. The PBE cycle that is going on the PBE now is 5.17. Judging by how cycles usually work, it would be at least next Tuesday when the patch is released/new cycle (5.18) starts. And usually, the champs are revealed a hour or less before they enter the PBE (Usually on Tuesdays) and are teased a few days beforehand (Usually on Fridays). So even if we would've gotten a teaser this Friday (The 28th), the champ for said reveal would be released around the 15th of September (September 1 is the reveal Tueday + 14 days for a cycle), so it won't be during October (Again, this is only if the champ would've been released with 5.18, which probably wouldn't happen, considering Meddler's comment about the next champ and Worlds Patch).

I didn't mean a reveal as in champion lore, abilities, and such. Just who or what the champion is and what they look like.

And... since this new champ will be in the 5.18 patch doesn't make no difference. This could be like before. We might have to wait two weeks for another hint, I don't know and by now, I bet its going to happen next week. Why? Riot tries to bring us at least some major new content each month that revolves around a champions gameplay or a major skin. I highly doubt its a skin. Besides, what are they going to do in September? They know they have to do something and it has happened last year that 3 champions were released during these months.

They said that there will not be any major new content before 5.19, because 5.17 and 5.18 are the balance patches for Worlds.

The Worlds patches and 3-weeks-worth of Christmas break for the PBE are usually the only times where no major content is released on the PBE (if any at all- Usually, after Christmas, as I said, they take a 3-weeks or so break from the PBE, not doing anything with it at all).

Besides, what are they going to do in September? They know they have to do something and it has happened last year that 3 champions were released during these months.

Uh, Worlds? :D It kind of makes up for the lack of major content in 5,17 and probably 5.18 too (and it's also the reason for it).

So, you're trying to say that a leak just happened, and you are ready to wait 5 months for them to do any reworks or champion reveals? I don't think they're going to do that. People got mad at them for being silent a whole summer, I don't know if this will go well.

Look at bards champion reveals.

Bard got a symbol on summoner rift.

However this symbol was a whole patch on the live servers before they revealed bard(because putting a teaser on the SR doesn't make much sense if you reveal the champ the moment the teaser hits the live-servers). So its most likely going to be like this: Patch V5.17 puts the teaser onto the live servers After Patch V5.18,they'll reveal the next champ Patch V5.19 gives us the new champ

Are you referring to what I said about the long after-Christmas break? It's only three weeks during December and it has nothing to do with the topic. It was just an example for another time where things slow down a little on the PBE.

I was just saying that Meddler said that, because Worlds is closing by, they will go for smaller changes, mostly balance, during 5.17 and 5.18 with no new champs.

I'm not sure exactly where you got the idea that I said that we're gonna wait 5 months for the next champ/any major content? (That just doesn't make sense.)

Also, this thing probably wasn't a leak, it seems like it's an intentional small teaser to me. :P

Alright. So. The World Championship is held all through October. . . . . Man, that's a big bummer. It means no new champs until after the Championship. . . . Two months. :(

Oh, no no. See, the final patch for Worlds is 5.18, which would probably be released halfway through September (the 15 I believe, if everything goes as usual). So we would probably have a new champ fully revealed around September 15 (the day 5.19 cycle is supposed to start on the PBE).

October? That's interesting. That reminds me of a Leak Page on Reddit. This all matches up strangely enough.. That Symbol looks like a Shadow Isles Symbol, and you've determined that the release is October right? Well the reddit leak page spoke of a Guardian-like Champion who hailed from the Shadow Isles who's release was going to be around October.

Yeah,the symbol doesn't match up completely,so I wouldn't get my hopes too much up either.

Well Bard was also teased within a patch before he was actually revealed. If this is a teaser for a champ,he/she might follow the pattern in a similar way,in which case he/she would be released in ~3 patches.

The next patch(V5.17) will come with this mystery announcement(probably in early september) After patch 5.18 has been released,they'll reveal the champ(late september) Patch 5.19 will then be released with the new champ and harrowing stuff in the mid of october.

The symbol appears on Summoner's Rift, but it's unknown what the "trigger" for the event is. It is however possibly to activate the symbol and spawn it directly. You can see it on Surrenderat20.net. There was no mention of it by Riot, so I dont think it has anything to do with the project skins.

The reason I wouldn't say its a Void is because for some reason they've done a certain thing with the Void. Chogath was the first Void champion and is a Tank. KogMaw came next and is a Marksman. Khazix came way later and is a Assassin. Velkoz is a Mage. RekSai came shortly after and is a Fighter.

None of them are like the other (as in their primary role).

You could add Kassadin and Malzahar but they're both human and not purely from the Void like these guys. I suspect the next (or at least hope) one will be a support but it was said it would not be a support or assassin so I'm either going with Ao Shin or someone from the Shadow Isles.

Juggernaut is pretty much the fighter role(more on the tanky side I guess,but still fighter).

The only primary category that hasn't been occupied by a void monster is support(although I doubt that they really care for the primary role,they probably design the champ first and care for the role later on)

The point was about the primary role of the champs. Vel'kozs primary role is still mage,which makes sense since even if you play him in botlane,he still plays pretty much like a mage anyway.

Yeah he forced that to spawn. It's not specific for PROJECT skins or Leona, just not entirely hooked up.

Looking at that, I'm more inclined to believe Celio's hypothesis of it being astral/celestial.

Yeah now that I see the effects and all I kinda doubt that it is related to the Shadow isles. It sounds kinda....sparkly,which doesn't really fit the SI.

Another reason why I believe it might not be a SI champ is bc the harrowing (halloween) is in october and that would be WAY to long for a champ and the symbol looks pretty similar to the dahma crest
