Gangplank's prissoner

As most of us know a Bilgewater event is coming soon. With most of these events include many updates/reworks and a new champion. A rioter hinted during the Q&A for Tahm Kench that something will happen to Bilgewater that will make it a lot worse. and that a savior or hero may come. As it would be really cool that Gangplank pulls a face turn (Wrestling reference) it is most unlikely since the look of him in his splash art makes him look even more sinister. The one thing I must point out is the prisoner. Is this the person who riot has been hinting at to be the savior for Bilgewater. Yes he may look weak right now but maybe there is something more powerful behind those wrinkled weak hands. This might be a bit of a reach but it could be very possible that this prisoner is the savior for Bilgewater. So is this guy the savior or is he just a pathetic prisoner who is dying in front of Gangplank to make Gangplank look more evil?

Something else that I have just noticed is that the prisoner has a small tattoo on his right hand. and many cuts on his hand. Don't you think that this brings some significance to the prisoner. Would Gangplank really torcher someone for fun? I believe this prisoner is playing a bigger role then we think. http://i.imgur.com/PmpwPXN.png

LOl I'm not that new I haven't played league in about like 7 months so I decided to come back and start all over since I assumed I wouldn't be that good. I remember Helmet bro from the Vel Koz reveal Plus he is dead obv not him :D ROFL

Seriously, im very sure he is important. I doubt they would add that on a character that has no significance.

P.S. Helmet Bro doesnt die.

I see that, and it reminds me of Runeterran writing, i.e. the Lorem Ipsum behind Ekko. But, it also reminds me of random things.

the Silver Serpentine, Tahm Kench, and TF's card, but meh. It's only illuminati.

LOl the moment you posted this I was writing the exact same thing on my post. But ya why would riot spend time adding details on the prisoner when Gangplank should be the main focus of this art?

Because good art is all about the details.

Detail is the only thing differentiating this splash art from a stick figure with a triangle on his head and a stick in his hand. There is a huge difference between the two, but those differences all come down to detail. Riot strives for quality in their work, so they dedicate funds to hiring talented artists who pay attention to all the details.

Isnt that the mark of those shadow rulers from noxus?(dont remember their name, the secret organization).

Also this might be the mark of the Gangplanks crew, and the so called "hero" was actually a part of it but then did something.

You make the mistake of thinking a savior has to be 'good' or 'kind' or 'noble'. Who says GP can't save Bilgewater as a sinister pirate? At the end of the day, if he saved the town, he IS its 'savior'.

This is true

Bilgewater is Gangplank's turf, and from what little lore we got it sounds like he'll protect it with all he's got

from what we know, blidgewater's "Savior" is likely the individual who will save them all from the black mist, and we already know both MF and GP are invested in protecting Bildgwater from the black mist, so either of them are both top candidates for that title already.

But he's not really saving it as a hero. He's saving it like someone would protect their slaves or property. Sounds to me like what they need saving FROM.

Gangplank is a pirate....pirates will kill entire ships for gold, or take the passengers and crew prisoner, enslave the crew, rape the female passengers, and make the males walk the plank. Why are you surprised that Gangplank might torture 1 measly prisoner?

ReymanDuke1 votes

But don't you think he would have more then just one prisoner? There are no other prisoners in this picture just this one.

revliledpembroke1 votes

Well, with the visible cannons, I'd have to imagine this is not the normal room where prisoners would be kept. It looks like Gangplank decided to have a little fun with someone on the cannon deck and had the prisoner chained there. Or that's the last prisoner to walk the plank.

Riot has used POV splash arts before to further cement how sinister a champion looks for example sions new splash art
