Where do the Project Skins fit into the lore?

I am curious to ask Riot where the Project skins fit into the lore similarly to the Battlecast and Mech skins.

The Battlecast skins, in the lore, were created by Victor in his attempts to take the most deadly beings in Runeterra and "evolve" them into something greater.

The Mecha series, I am lead to believe, were developed by Yordels as can be seen in Mecha Malphite and Aatrox. Rumble, Ziggs and Heimerdinger can be seen. These could possibly been created to capture their rouge design of Kha'zix or to protect the Yordel people.

So with the Project Page announced, who made them? By who's will are these champions being upgraded to enhance their skills?

Okay, maybe i need to clarify.

I know plain well that the game is just a mess of random A vs Some B. Im sure that Zac, an amorphous blob, and Lissandra, an Iceborn demi-god, would team up to punch Corki in the face. I'm asking about the Project line.

Who made the Project suits? Does that make sense? I'm not one of those "OH THE RETCON RUNED ALL LOL" I am just curious as to what Riot came up with. Just like Battlecast and Victor.

More clarity:

#lore: Noun A body of traditions and knowledge on a subject or held by a particular group, typically passed from person to person by word of mouth.

In relation to the "Lore" I am asking, it is the SKINS LORE. Just like how Viktor created the Battlecast versions of the champions to evolve them.

Arcade Hecarim - This skin sees Hec as a colourful robot. It's LORE is that this is him in a sort of arcade world along with Sona, Riven, Veiger, EVERYBODY! The LORE behind the Battlecast skins is that Viktor created them to take over the world. The Bloodmoon skins LORE is of the myths and legends of powerful godlike beings from a different cultures point of view. i.e Ionia. The Waring Kingdoms LORE is again a different cultures take on these great warriors.

Does that clarify more?

Where do you think the Pulsefire Crew fit in too? Are they trying to top the PROJECT timeline from ever happening?

First I would like to say that The PROJECT skins are not Hex - Tech. Hex-Tech is like an equivalent of steampunk in the League of Legends universe. Also Super Galaxy Rumble wouldn't be apart of the Battlecast timeline due to the fact the Super Galaxy skins are like a equivalent of The Power Rangers, hence why there isn't any actual evil characters within their skin set and if anything they would most likely be fighting against either the normal void creatures or the Eternum skin line. Full Metal, created by Jayce , supposedly to fight off the Battlecast created by Victor. (resistance group) <---- not sure about this so much....

Mecha, created by Corki , Heimerdinger , and Rumble , to fight of the Battlecast ( The first ever created Mecha is Sion , then Khazix ,Malphite , Aatrox .

PROJECT, created by ??? in order to deal Battlecast i would believe... now within PROJECT there are two factions there are Zed and Katarina in a faction that seems to embrace the robotic side of themselves even though they show their human characteristics and then we have Leona , Lucian , Ashe , Fiora , Yasuo , MasterYi , Ekko who are apart of some type of resistance that even though they were enhanced they believe that as long as they don't obey they are human.

Resistance Group, is made up of various champions like : Caitlyn , Tristana , Teemo , Ezreal and those are the few of the many other Champions that possibly comprise of the resistance.

A Grim Dark Future is referenced in two skins Omega Squad Teemo and PulseFire Ezreal and is clear that they were fighting against some type of opposition.

Now the only "people" or nation i could think of that has the technology that could possibly create PROJECT are Piltover and Zaun. My reasoning behind this is because both Demacia and Noxus are more into Magic and Might, and Ionia is basically annihilated and Piltover and Zaun both rival each other technological advancements.

Velkoz is seen in the background of PROJECT Katarina splash art, so there is a very very high possibility that Battlecast and PROJECT are in the same Universe.

PROJECT might be Noxus, or some other faction/nation, coming up with replicas of mighty warriors for an elite.

Maybe the best enemy of someone is himself, so in trying to capture Yasuo they send PROJECT: Yasuo against him. A COOL SHORT WE'D LOVE TO SEE AHEM. Yasuo facing this enemy, making him face and defeat himself, and evolving as a character in our eyes.

They don't. League has a fragmented lore, as in there's the base lore found through the champion bios and then a bunch of "what-if" lores found in the skins.

Quinn and Ryze aren't pirates. Cassiopeia and Fiddlesticks aren't bandits, and Renekton/Nasus/Azir aren't intergalactic space hunters.

However, each lore "group" has it's own individual lore and it's fun to postulate where they would interact. For example, The Commando line probably has something to do with the (lacking) Bioforge line. The Mecha line is probably it's own "what-if" response to the Battlecast line.

The PROJECT line is just another "what-if" storyline people are going to get overly excited about that, while cool and all, won't really impact much of anything.

PROJECT has a sense that its more low key than BattleCast and Mecha. Mecha and BattleCast are huge ass robot, things that would be official, you know they are here, you know where they came from (can't hit something as big as Mecha Malphite or Battlecast Urgot) and you know they are going to kick your ass. In contrast, Project feels very low key, sleek, with out the size and intimidation of the other two line but looking very high tech, like something that would be fitting for espionage, spying, infiltration and assassination. Now what secretive group would send elite spy and assasins, having the resource and money to makes these cyborgs, while having ominous name like PROJECT YASUO? The Illuminati

It really reminds me of NESTS from The King of FIghters - a secret syndicate who carried the plans for world domination. They modified and produced mutants/cyborgs/clones. Maybe the Black Rose is working this way and the PROJECT is their creation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6iN_WQZD7I Notice how similar the boss intros look to the PROJECT page. here's how i see the tech skins in the lore: Battlecast: they were created by viktor in success of his glorious evolution and used to take over most of valoran Mecha: they were developed by the yordles with the help of jayce in hopes of fighting against viktor's takeover(though im honestly not sure about mecha kha here) Eternum: this is essentially alien tech that has come for some reason and taken hosts or something Project: i believe that this is a section of the resistance using the mecha's these could be their special operatives

then again this is just speculation and theory and i could be entirely incorrect

Unlike the Mecha and Battlecast like, the "Project" skins dont make a lot of sense... for now, i mean, reading the texts from the page, i guess that:

"Trace Lost" New Champ

"Brilliance in pieces, shrouded in ethereal flame. Protector, light bringer. Lone voice. Stand and Fight. In death heavy fields, now still she stands, light washes over..." Leona Soraka Lux

"Piercing flame, he, cast in light. I see his vision, free from shadow, a blazing melody. Beyond the light, nothing, purity bound in fury..." Brand Lucian

"Tempest, a blossom caught in drift, fluid form. He speaks. Death is like the wind... he is a storm, blade howling... Always by my side..." Yasuo

"Dark sight, shadows marked, death lives beside. Silencer, he follows. The shadow is within. Blood soaked, he stands. Vanish..." Varus TalonZed a champ from the shadow isles??

"Weaves, unweaves; unraveled defense, dashing forward blade gleaming. Caught orbiting one vision, dashing, striking, blade dancing..." ... umm Irelia Diana or Fiora maybe?

Those champs do not have a real relation between them... Unless they all are from a futuristic Ionia or something

I remember seeing somewhere in relation to the Project: Skins a weird quote, Im not sure where I saw it but this might give some insight as to what their purpose is.

The phrase I saw was "They will... comply"

So perhaps the Project: Skins were created as an Assassination Team, all of the Project: Skins show assassination or subjugation within the champion, Leona can subdue a Champion for LONG periods of time while the rest of the Project: Skins have great ability in fighting against huge numbers.

Leona - can stick to targets as well as AOE Damage + Crowd Control Lucian - Pretty sure a fed Lucian can rip through targets like butter, and continue doing so from a safe distance with his dash. Zed - Can assassinate a select target even if they're surrounded and disappear without a trace. Master Yi - Multi-Target combat, can assassinate multiple targets if left unchecked Fiora - Great Dueling Potential and can beatdown even the tankiest of enemies without much effort. Yasuo - Swift Duelist and has the power to take on many enemies at once as well, even ranged enemies.

So it definitely isn't a response or defense team or anything like that. More like an "Insurance" set, used when their creator doesn't exactly get his own way, he sends one or more of the Projects down to slowly eliminate their targets until compliance is recieved. Its an idea

As much as people would think that riot just threw this toguether and called it Project ....work actually went into this witht he whole skin sync that would change the minions and there attack animation so i dont believe they would give you some awesome feturres with out giving you a little bit of story to it if you really look into it but whta re PROJECTS in the web site i found it stated that there are a combination of both they magical abillitys adn upgraded technology working in sync but for the story/lore most of the champions could have been actually captured and escaped but during this time i would say that fiora,lucian,yasuo were some of the 1st to be transfomed into real PROJECTS also for this to make sense they would also be tranformin them at the same time but yasou being skilled was able to escape but he was unable to full become PROJECT you can tell this because in the project website his hand is just a leather gauntlet not some special type of tech so when he escaped he also managed to help both lucian and fiora but he didnt get there in time to stop the fulll PROJECT so that is why there compeletly full of tech ....even do fiora and lucian would naturally team up and get revenge to find out who did this (due to there personality and ideals in lore) but yasou being the lone wander would naturally go at it solo that why he does not come out in the actuall animation .....so when fiora and lucian find out that there is someone else being changed to a project aswell maybe because they were supposed to be mind controlled (who would COMPLETELY upgrade someone and not try to controll them)so when they get there after fighting a horde of sucurity they find a damaged building so fiora hheads inside to make sure its safe ...so they find yia and yatta yatta they fight zed bla bla bla and the story ends with them 'deffeting zed' not killed but as they leave with yi... leona was being changed in the same building just on a lower flooryou can see he sword and shield in the animation but she was not fully changed duo to the fact that they had 4 PROJECT subjects escaped and loose so they put the chip or what ever and beggan there work with the unknown enemy having ONLY zed and leona in there controll (of course they would rush leonas exparamentation they didnt want to risk them loosing her too)soo yeah thats all i got but for the actuall area i would have to say its a place that is both corrupt and technologically advance sooooo this is a altenate universe were they acully properd ans began more adnvace than the origenals

soooooo many hand claps if you read all of this sorry for the miss types

Could be a small "factionless" group of scientists creating robotic replicas of some of the most powerful warriors in hopes of using their own abilities against them. Sort of like the robot that was sent to kill Afro Samurai by being exactly like him and knowing all of his moves. Maybe guys like Zed and Yasuo have massive bounties on their heads and this is their attempt to cash in? The robots can quickly be rebuilt when struck down, and learn from their experiences every time they are bested so that eventually, it is hoped they will become better than the original.

to give you guys a taste of my philosophy about the PROJECT: ARK. It is a Parallel Universe to Valoran. but in the far future of ionia, a secret organisation achieved to save the remains of several legends, like Yasuo, Master Yi, Zed, Vayne, JHIN who fell in combat... they recreated their bodies, and put their brains in these "shells". keep in mind most of them are ionian nature.

Has anybody seen Ghost in the Shell? good. thats the idea. this secret organisation starts a civilwar to take down the government, with these new "warriors". but some of them like vayne and master yi can get control over their new lifes and bodies to cause some goddamn justice in this grungy, dark, furutistic-japanlike, cyber city.

By the way, they contained Jhins conciousness in a little kybernetic insect which serves as his artificial bodies head. so it can vanish and keep going in case the body gets destroyed in combat.

WHICH leads me to the FACT that the PROJECT mustve been made by the same people that freed JHIN while noxius invaded ionia in the past. (which you can read in jhins biography). it is described that a CABAL within the RULING COUNCIL freed him to use Jhins talent as a weapon against noxus.
