Shhhh, you hear that?

That silence sounds eerily similar to content lore fans.

Just wanting to throw this out there and point out that Tahm's video gave him personality, motives, and history, all in one go.

just no real motivation for him to fight on the rift, thus making it feel very awkward/wrong to play him...but hey, guess i better get used to that *sigh*

The Rift is a figment of our imaginations. I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist in League's Lore anymore, but I imagine pieces could emerge later (Baron could still be alive and in the wild, for example).

I subscribe to the idea that the Rift's a real place in Runeterra, with two sides and all the creatures and Baron and all that stuff.

I think it exists, but not nearly as uniform, more wild. I guess it could be an ancient battleground or something, with ruins of nexii. I also belive that that is were Baron and Dragon both live. but not so close togethor.

the thing is...either you´re willing to play the game without your imagination, soly focused on the mechanical part now - or there´s a big dissonance between lore&gameplay. Any way I look at it it doesn´t work at all.

Wait, you mean narrative actually started to work?

Alright, now i will wait for them to replace more than 80% of the old lore which they destroyed and then i'll be happy.

Tahms video is quite good in explaining who Kench is.

I made my thread of what I think is still wrong with how Riot is going about this new lore. Some people agreed, but not too many seem to care. I guess getting content is sufficient for them.

Then again, just complaining forever gets boring. Just because there's silence, doesn't mean people're content. They might just have gotten bored of posting or stopped caring.

The latter is pretty much it. I could make a million posts about the problems with the new lore, but it won't stop Jaredan from retconning Ashe into his 2D waifu (which he pretty much did, to be honest). On the other hand, I have amassed a massive gaming backlog while playing League and would like to put a dent in it. I still haven't played the Prototype games or the Assassin's Creed franchise past 2, or Banner Saga and Wasteland 2 and Pillars of Eternity (which I pledged for on Kickstarter, so ignoring them is silly), and I just got invited into a guild in FF14...

It's simply silly for me to continue caring about a video game when its own creators don't seem to care about it as a whole. So I focused posting in interesting discussions only, which rarely happen anymore because everyone else is just as exhausted as I am.

I started it three times but never finished it. It's one of those games that requires a special sort of mindset for you to enjoy it. For example, the sort of mindset you reach by dealing with the narrative team's open contempt for what their fans actually want and enjoy for ten months.

I do enjoy how there are no heroes in the game. Humanity is fucked regardless of who wins, Alex is just the fastest (and messiest) way for it to go.

I won't lie, Prototype's story is no work of Tolkien, but there is a certain charm in playing an amoral abomination that uses the random civilian as a quick health pick-up.

It does have a pretty interesting world-building mechanic, where you consume people who know stuff and learn more about the entire situation that the small microcosm that you're currently dealing with is about. Stopping Greene and saving New York is just part of the problem, there's a lot more out there.

Too bad that Prototype 2 kinda shat on that idea...

Let us not speak of it.

Sad thing is, Prototype 2 actually had a lot of improvements on the gameplay front, if you ask me.

And could have been inserted into any fantasy setting without much issue. I mean, he's a cool character, but they aren't telling any new stories. Like some others, I'm just tired of expecting anything. I think Jaredan's last round of posts has made it pretty clear that they aren't doing anything better or even care about fixing the world lore.

LoL no you misunderstand what your deceiving eyes tell you.

The "Silence" is because people gave up... many probably quit LoL all together.

I don't see much pro threads to the nature either: Compared to EKKO whereas much discussion existed.

I could go and make a thread about "Tahm is a loser champion who also shouldn't be in LoL" but then I just get 40+ downvotes alas and 'tsk 'tsk Fiora it is so...

Personally I am about to jump ship myself... simply trollin a bit longer until everything else lines up then GG WP. I would image games played/RP sales and even LCS viewership all falls to this degree.

GG WP RIOT... See you in Internet Abandonware land.

The story was great and all, we actually learn some things about Kench.

I hope there's more specifics in the follow-up. If there is any. I'd like to know what makes Tahm... KENCH. :^|

Dude, havent you heard? Riot basically confirmed Leona x Diana http://40.media.tumblr.com/a3315ca7e5ddcedc5c4e3719e480e438/tumblr_nqkn83eCNA1rle77go1_1280.jpg #LoveWins...I guess

Until i figured out exactly who he was, I hated his design. He seemed out of place, everything about him was insulting.

Namely, a fish with formal clothes and a top hat that could travel anywhere in space and time because meh why not, he also knows everything about everybody.

no questions were answered about who he was, where he comes from, and how he got his powers.

that was until i crafted my theory that he is league's version of the devil, which i really like to see.
