Yeah, the full-suited Kai'Sa feels better. I almost think it would have been better to have her helmet on in the splash and in-game, leaving her actual appearance up to the imagination. THEN it would have been way more interesting when its like "oh she's not terrifying underneath" and you're intrigued instead of confused. Sure, it would still have problems, but her initial character would be presented as something inherently scary and her lines of "don't be afraid of my appearance" would actually make sense. It's like, ok, be afraid of what? Pretty grills?
Same idea with her voice filter. Not really all that different, it's the same lines and delivery just through a filter, but the filter does a lot of work to make her sound abnormal at the very least.
