When are we going to start hearing about present day Runeterra again?

It seems like all the lore that has been produced this in the last year or two, has been directly tied to champion retcons/reworks.

Since the JoJ died, we haven't really heard much about the goings on of present day Runeterra.

I mean, it's cool if champions are involved in some of that stuff, but it was so fun to hear stories about some of the more normal stuff that happened in Runeterra that wasn't connected to backstory. If anything, that kind of stuff showed a champion's personality better than anything.

I remember reading about Jax and Gragas wrecking up a bar.

I remember Blitzcrank's dating service.

I remember reading about a certain monk, before he joined the League of Legends.

I really miss hearing about that stuff. Without it, it's really hard to gauge how things are in Runeterra without hearing about the normal silly stuff that champions do in their off time. All we really have is each individual faction with its own exaggerated theme and nothing really connecting them.

(Hate to say it, but I don't think the lore reboot is a reasonable excuse here. It is asinine to retcon almost an entire game's lore with without having said retcon ready to ship immediately. Outside of Riot, what kind of professional company would accept that kind of decision?)

If the Institute of War isn't coming back, there should at least still be something that connects the citizens of Runeterra.

@Riot, Is there anything in the works to fill the gaps that the removal of the Institute of War and the Journal of Just left?

I say this as a huge fan of your game Riot: Your current methods of delivering lore seem far less effective to me than the methods you have used in the past (the Journal of Justice). Also, it seems like there is no longer a unifying connection between all of the champions anymore, which makes the idea of champions feel cheapened.

Little of topic, but I also miss when being a Summoner didn't just mean gamer who plays LoL.

well who is to say that these stuff that we currently get are not the present?

Because of the retcons it is easily possible that Azirs resurrection is a quite recent event.

We will probably get more current event lore when champions like Garen , Ashe , and Swain get new lores. Plus, if the whole "serialized" lore thing works out all the lores will get updated with current Runeterra events.
