My expansive feedback on the Kayle skins

Kayle is my fourth highest mastery champ at the moment, and I have 35 mastery 5 champions at the moment. So I'm definitely not a one-trick. Also FTR, I've not played her yet since her rework, and slowly stopped playing her when the runes were reworked. And yes, I'm excited for her new kit and want to try it out. But first, I want to comment on her new look, and share my feedback with everyone possible.

I own Judgment and Riot Kayle skins.

I think the rework is a significant upgrade to many of her skins. But, I think many if not all of them could use some changes which would make her skins irresistible, and after reading what I put here, I hope all will realize that it won't take much and will be worth it to invest some extra effort into them.

Going to go in the order that they appear in the client.

Start with default. Interestingly enough, I like this skin except for one glaring flaw IMO...the shoulder armor is weird and makes one of her movement animations look dumb, and restricts the rest of her animations so that they don't also look dumb. A large problem, but they can revisit the model movements after fixing the skin if they ever decide that's a good idea. I haven't noticed any other character or Kayle skin for that matter have as big of a problem with stretching/movement as the default skin here, so that's good. But yeah, this one problem makes the whole skin bad and IMHO limits what you can do with the rest of the champion visually which is a little uncool IMO.

Silver Kayle is next. She appears to have blue on her helm and is mostly white/silver. I like the overall look here. Fabulous and a nice contrast to default Kayle, both the original and the reworked version. Her shoulder armor unfortunately looks quite uncomfortable, and apparently the armor gets bigger as she spends ability points, so I guess they would make that smaller too if they ever wanted to fix up the movement animations so she could stretch more. I love the white-blue or blue-white coloring that her wings get when her attacks get powered up. I would like to see it and others get attention to the color of their ability effects and whether it's appropriate for them to be the same bright yellow/gold attacks that default gets. It would just make a lot more sense with many of the skins including this one to change the ability effects colors. If you can do it to the wings, you can do it to her spells, too.

Viridian Kayle is next. Right away, from looking at the splash, this is meant to be an elf version of her. It definitely is unique, and I like so much about it. She doesn't look terrible with the yellow-colored wings nor the yellow spell animations, but I really think considering that her wings appear to be mimicking fairy dragon wings, she should get a similar power up coloring that Silver Kayle gets so that her wings aren't drowned out by the bright gold/yellow when her attacks are at their most powerful. It's just a personal opinion of mine though...I'm not sure how others would feel. And I don't think the skin is meant to appeal to me personally...it's just well, I'm not sure what to do about the coloring of this skin, but to me personally it just feels wrong and needs some adjusting somewhere. What if the wing glow was a white-pink or pink-white color and the sword was as well where it is otherwise yellow/gold? Then you could adjust the colors of the ability effects to be either green or pink or whatever, instead of yellow/gold in order to match the rest of the skin. Alternatively, you could just add in more green. Green instead of the yellow/gold on sword, and a green-white or white-green glow for the wings. I feel like the skins could use a bit more uniqueness, and this skin although I like it a lot, feels a bit out of place without that little bit of extra uniqueness IMO.

Transcended Kayle is next. Oh wow, this skin looks so amazing. I'd dare say this is the best 'direct upgrade' from default skin. Basically, if someone likes the look of default but wants something better, this is their skin. This skin is so amazing. I love the look of the sword, so unique. The colors everywhere are so good too, and the red clothing on her even is a good flashback to the original Kayle's default look. I wouldn't suggest a single change to this skin, it's fantastic. Even the glow of the sword looks great on this skin in particular(now that I think about it, that sword glow is another thing that could use improvement in some of the other skins that have contrasting color schemes to the default).

Battleborn Kayle is next. This is perhaps the most unlike Kayle skin of the new rework. I don't particularly like it, but it could be taken more seriously if again, all the ability animations and glows were changed to reflect how her wings look. If I'm understanding the interpretation of how her skin looks correctly, she's supposed to be looking like a Viking, and those are 'sea monster' wings. So, why is there orange/yellow/gold everywhere? It just feels so out of place. If all that orange coloring(ignoring brown/orange on clothing because that's fine) were replaced with stuff that looks more like sea water and such then I think this could be a great skin.

Judgment Kayle is next. This is one of few 'dark themed' skins in her rework. Interestingly enough, it was not an originally dark skin, at least not IMO. I'm okay with the thematic change 100 percent because the day of judgment is actually supposed to be a dark day, so a dark-colored angel with the name of judgment is not a bad idea at all. However, and yes, she has my favorite sword out of all of them, which is fantastic because I own the skin, but I'd argue that it's not the best sword and it's not the best skin. Not the best sword because it doesn't have an appropriate glow to go with it, and not the best skin because all those ability effects are just such a wrong color. Bright gold for a dark champion doesn't make sense. And the fireplace orange glow which seems to be on most of her skins' weapons again feels out of place on this skin. It's a fabulous skin, and I'm on board with the wing glow effect even though it is quite subtle for I think it's appropriate. But would like to see the sword glow and ability effects take on a similar coloring that the wings do when she's powered up, if not the same one. Personally I'm on board with wherever exactly the change goes, but I think riot knows that a change would be appropriate and I'm confident should they implement one that the color would be satisfying. Her shoulder armor seems questionable(shouldn't the spikes be a little bit shorter?) but not as dumb looking IMO as default skin nor Silver Kayle skin.

Aether Wing Kayle is next. Extremely robotic feeling, although I guess that's the point. Totally not my style of skin, but it's okay. They might have went a little overboard with contrasting colors in the ability effects. It's not a confusing skin nor is any of these reworked skins which is great, however, I personally feel like the skin is lacking a cool color scheme. And why do her pants look so much like default Kayle's pants? Why not give her sand-colored pants instead of purple and make all that sand-colored armor be purple instead? I don't know what could be done with it, honestly, but I like the idea of giving it purple, especially for ability effects.

Riot Kayle is next. Wow, it actually doesn't look like a big pile of junk. Not my style, but it looks so much better than the original, so can't complain at all here. She doesn't have the fireplace orange glow on the sword so it makes me wonder why so many of the other skins with a similar color scheme do! I figure they just haven't gotten around to changing them yet. Also, her sword glow attack and the powered up attacks are changed also to match the skin better. Would like to see the rest of the ability effects brought into line, perhaps the ultimate could be that red-like color(or similar to it) that is found on her wings. If the ability effects were all of them brought in line, it would feel like a more complete skin. As it is, definitely a nice job so far, though.

Iron Inquisitor Kayle is next. I'm getting a very 'Shadowverse/Havencraft' vibe from the splash art on this skin. And after looking at it in game with the spotlight YouTube video(I consulted YouTube before making this post), this IMHO is the best Kayle skin right now and it's not even close. The wing glow is awesome, and the ability effect colors complement the skin perfectly. I started asking myself what is it that I don't like about her sword, and I finally figured it out. It looks nice with the glow, and when she splits it to attack. But please, make the sword look better before it gets upgraded. I like how it looks after her passive is making it all gold, but before that, the edge is grey but the rest of the sword isn't. Either make more of the sword grey or keep it looking the same from the start. After thinking about it for a while, I think putting more grey on the sword makes more sense. When she upgrades her passive, it will turn into gold and look fabulous anyway, but that's no reason to make the sword look silly at level 1 IMO.

Pentakill Kayle is last. I like the reworked version much more than the older one here. The hair color is great. Mostly black but with some blonde highlights. It's a tech-styled skin and it's another red-glow wing skin so that players can get a bit more accurate with the style they like in a champ. Her spell effects are fiery and I think they look cool and match the demeanor of the skin. I think the ultimate could perhaps look more sinister, like maybe throw in a small amount of black perhaps, or if there is some already, replace some of the other colors there with more of it. But yeah, other than the ultimate not looking that rad, seems like a great skin. As a matter of taste, the skin is not for me, but it feels good to look at unlike the skin did before the rework.

Ranking the skins for pure quality and keeping in mind this is my individual opinion: 1- IIK 2- TK 3- PkK 4- JK 5- VK 6- RK 7- AWK 8- BbK 9- SK 10- Default Kayle

I'm pleased with the direction Riot took with these skins, and hope they fix these small to large issues so her skin lineup can be absolutely irresistible and so that I could feel like it would be an abomination to rank the skins in the future.
