Rengar's Personality!

So I've been looking into the full lores and everything linked to them of my favorite champions, and I hadn't looked into my main's lore in a while because of how short and disconnected from all the other champs lores it was, and of course that champ is Rengar!

His personality always seemed so one dimensional, and that kind of upset me because I enjoy him as a champ so much and I've always liked lore from any game, even lore as poorly designed as LoL's :P So the whole "Predator vs Alien" copy in Rengar and Kha'Zix was very underwhelming, it left nothing to be explored because it was so basic.

Then however I heard rumors that Rengar had an official rivalry with Nidalee, and thought I might be able to get something more about him if I could find out exactly what this rivalry entailed! Sadly, the ONLY official link between these two champs was that they were listed as rivals on the official league website, there was literally nothing more then that.

But finally, I found something! Maybe not so much found, but I recently realized something about another champ that I had not even considered to look into yet, GNAR! I'm sure many of you already know this, but Gnar's lore story is actually told by Rengar! I had no idea until just recently, but what really surprised me is apparently Rengar is a decently kind fellow, seeing little Gnar fishing and actually remarking in a very positive way in regards to other hunters and even yordles in general, which means apparently Rengar has a favorable opinion of yordles, not something I'd have thought. He also shows a kind side when little Gnar sees him, basically giving him a polite greeting before continuing on, and when Gnar starts to get in his way while he hunts for Mega Gnar (not knowing they're the same thing) he instead of doing what I'd have previously thought and just brushed him aside or been more forceful, he actually first just tries to point him in another direction. Then trying to roar and scare him off, and finally throwing his boomerang into a tree when nothing else worked.

But in the end this all shows a rather friendly side to our knife cat champion that I had not expected to see, and seeing as how Mega Gnar didn't crush the startled Rengar at the end of the lore I'm assuming they're at least friendly with one another, since I also read that officially "Gnar has forgiven Rengar for hunting him." I just wish all champs had more lore to them, this little miniscule discovery for myself has told me SO MUCH about these two champs, and I hope Riot does more of this in the future!

Maybe even give us some more info on Aatrox and why he's in so many other champion's splash arts? Hint Hint!

I've always loved characters in shows that were complete badasses whenever they were around others but then showed a whole other kinder side when being in a non-dangerous situation usually by themselves. Personally, I really want there to be some sort of fatherly relation ship between the two just because I find it would work pretty well with the whole Always happy child with usually grumpy protector thing you see pretty commonly in shows. I was also pretty curious about Rengar's personality when he wasn't in a hunting situation and Gnar's lore really gave me a whole new level of appreciation for him.

Rengar's personality can be summed up in three tropes.

He's like a Predator. His life is dedicated to finding the biggest, baddest things in Runeterra, and proving he's badder. It's a very simple, base cause, but easily believable, considering what he is.

What is Rengar? Nothing officially says, so I assume he's a lion that's been mutated by the magics of the rune wars, like Wukong and Rammus, and maybe even Skarner nowadays. Anyway.

I think the rivalry between Rengar and Nidalee is a good one. Nidalee would want to protect the animals of the wilderness that Rengar wants to hunt. Rengar hunts for sport, and while he doesn't go wantonly killing every dangerous animal in sight, he does hunt for something besides food, which Nidalee would probably find fault in. Their rivalry probably stems from Nidalee interrupting his hunts.

As for Gnar, people want there to be a friendship there so badly. Riot is trying to make him into a Stitch-esque character who is studied by Heimerdinger and friended by Lulu, but Rengar is a much more awesome and original pick. Rengar could teach Gnar the meaning of hunting, as Rengar's human father did, and proving your strength. Not to mention they can ride one another into battle (Either little Gnar on Rengar's shoulders or Rengar on big Gnar's back).
