Enough is Enough

Stop with the incessant silence. You have admitted to having a problem with this, and an obligation to prove the community wrong when it comes to the quality of content moving forward.

You have yet to deliver on the latter, which could arguably be constrained by game balance and design. OK. But that does not excuse you from communicating with your playerbase, especially when your original decision of retconning is STILL not widely accepted as the right direction. You have an obligation to explain why standing members of the lore fanbase say things like this.

CupcakeTrap:

I've basically stopped caring about what Narrative does. The lore community just making up our own LoL lore, building upon the original foundations and adding in whatever we like from their new material, sounds better to me every day. Meanwhile, let Riot go off and make their "foundations" for some ridiculous media franchise, MMO, or whatever they're planning in some League-less alternate version of Runeterra.

Jaredan, this isn't the reaction you want your fans to have, and you have a job to do by filling the silence,** because there is no reason players should ever feel ignored**, if Riot is truly the "most player focused company" like you believe yourselves to be

Unfortunately, the Narrative Team has no interest in communicating or working *with *their community.

...sigh I would love nothing more to right some fanfiction, and let the community know what I can do...like others do But The story is what brought me to this game. And I can see its going nowhere, and im 2nd thinking stop playing this game entirely. Sure the game can be fun, but when u see what u like about a game is falling, while another part is rising(cough e-sports cough) It makes you lose interest. That Dev Blog about exploring runeterra,...was two months ago now...and what do we have? 10% of the Great Shurima event, maybe 30% 5% of Noxus(although this was clearly focused around the rework of sion, for gameplay purposes) and whatever u call the Harrowing. Which is not even lore related in anyway. More shortened bios of Shadow Isles Champs for no reason... Yea, think ive lost a great amount of interest. And the only communication we get is from theories that Narrative can feed off of...except for those stories Jaredan revealed to us. But as I said before, ill make it my trademark quote: "They keep us on the hook while they fish for answers)

Jaredan made 11 posts in the Discussion thread for the Azir/Xerath story, along with several other topics. We didn't receive that many red posts about Lore in the entire year of 2013 while Kitae was in charge.

They might not be talking to us as much as we'd like, but it has improved since that period. And honestly, Jaredan and Runaan both have a history of making good explanation posts. They're both still here, so I'll put my cards with them.

Retcon was a bad decision, but we can't dwell on it for the rest of our lives.

Amen.

When you've caused CupcakeTrap to lose it to that point, you've done fucked up beyond all recognition and should take two steps back and take a look at what you did.

Listening(TM) is what the Narrative Team is doing.

You know what? How about every single supporter of the old lore simply posts "Return the institute" as a thread nothing more, nothing less, just that one line, completely flood the boards people, give them nothing else.

...And hey if they don't listen we could always just treat the boards like the garbage dump it appears to be by now. Start spam posting your best League related Hentai People!!

To be entirely fair 'widely accepted' just means the LoL community on the forums, which is less than 10% of all LoL players. Truth is, most people don't really care about the backstory. They just like the character and the immediate details.
