Anyone else not play champions because of their back story or affiliation to a city state?

i refuse to play any champion from Demacia besides maybe (but riot gut her) and (she has no meaningful character) because i'm on noxus side! i also rule out the shadow isle champions besides and maybe (if riot stops gutting her every time she see play) i also dont play simply because i prefer as queen over her i refuse to play most ionians besides (ironically since he is similar to who i hate with a passion lost his home to noxian invasion) .i still play even though i don't like ashe like which is weird and any neutral champion is fair game for me.what champions do you play just because you love their back story or what champions wont you play because of their affiliations? also the reason i put this in story and art was to see if anyone else gets affected by the story of the champions as much as me

I don't buy Draven, and I rarely play Darius, because they're such creepy sadists when they're chasing Ahri and Leona in that one League cinematic. Not exactly what you're talking about, but sort of the similar.

Somewhat. Or rather, I'll play champions I don't really enthusiastically like the kit of if their backstory and aesthetics are interesting to me. Only reason I own Yorick.

Syndra is the closest example of a champion I wouldn't play because of their backstory. Her kit is mildly interesting to me, but the champion backstory strikes me basically like...Anakin Skywalker levels of terrible angsty stupid darkside baby tantrums.

I don't think champions lore ever turned me away from playing one but I often pick a champion up if their lore intrigues me. I do however refuse to play some champions solely because I don't like their visuals (they look boring).

Hmm, somewhat. I'm not a fan of most Noxian characters or pretty much anything from the Kumungu Jungles. On the flipside, lore has strongly attracted me to some characters like Syndra and Lissandra .

Gameplay kit and viability is one thing, but story and personality are equally important to me. Absolute effectiveness only matters if you play LCS-level competition, really.

Nah, I feel like that would limit my champion pool too much. A lot of champions I own I definitely did not intend to own when I started playing and it's fun to grow and expand. I'm sure you're missing out on some fun champions by limiting who you choose to play. But, to each their own. I enjoy the lore, but I wouldn't let it dictate who I play. I play who I like. :3

Eh, kinda. When I play a champion a lot, I start to get more interested in their backstory and background. But their background doesn't keep me away from playing them. Their kits do that.

I play most Ionians, couple of Demacians, some Shadow Isles, and I play almost no Noxians, except for maybe Katarina. My main is Ahri

There isn't a champ that I don't play because of their lore, but there's one I can't play because of the VO.

Veigar His voice makes me wanna strangle a baby. It matches everything about him and is well done, but for some reason sets my teeth on edge.

There's also one that I won't play because of their personality.

Riven She just makes me wanna slap a B#*$%. GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!

Hmm, now that I look at a lot of my most played. I basically play mainly Demacians with next to no one from Noxus and Zaun. (WW is from Zaun and Morg I technically don't count from Noxus)

I guess just not many of what Noxus has to offer really interests me. I am not big on extreme damage champs or assassins, so their main roster of Darius/Draven, Kata/Talon are gone. Which is a majority of the big ones.

Nah, but I do pick my champions largely because I like the way they look, which I suppose is a similar idea!

Not really. A lore that I like is something that makes me want to play a certain champ,but a bad one doesn't necessarily turn me away,but simply doesn't add anything to it either.

And no...I mean sometimes I'll play themed champs with friends..so we have a smaller pool to pick from..but I just play w/e seems good for the team comp/sounds fun at the time, ignoring all affinity/nationality. Lucian adc/ Thresh support has great synergy. And KogMaw adc/ Kassadin mid makes for a really strong late game.

Love reading the lore...but fk following it for games. :p
