Fourth Darkin Speculations/Theories

What if the fourth darkin is a darkin that fused with a darkin instead of human?

Like, the 4th Darkin killed and fused with the 5th Darkin in an attempt to stay stable.

This could solve the 5th Darkin and fulfill the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse vibe.

I'm thinking that a darkin corrupted human killed and fused with another darkin corrupted human.

In all the new lore, I don't think it's ever mentioned that only 5 actually remain. The 5th thing came from old Aatrox lore which was an awesome idea of an invading unstoppable demon like army, not just a bunch of humans given too much power.

On topic the best they can do is a Darkin who isn't like the others. We currently have:

  • A mass murdering maniac who's crying over his once lost form fighting others because he's blaming the world when it was he who did it to himself and if he really wants to die he'd walk into the Void and be consumed.
  • A homicidal maniac.
  • A conflicted guy who wants to avenge his 'race'... of humans given power by other humans and then went mad with power.

What we need is someone who regrets what they did as they have had hundreds of years trapped in formless darkness to contemplate their very being.

An idea I have is a Vastayan/Darking support. The Darkin was the last 'Ascended' created before Xerath ruined things and the only one done after the Void breach was sealed. They were masters of magic and due to how their Ascension was done aged as normally as other humans as they were Ascended at a very young age (going against the usual reasons for Ascension), they were still extremely powerful but to keep up with other Darkin who didn't age like him, they invented Blood magic to prolong their life. This was then stolen by others who twisted their forms and used it to do more than just rule over people.

This Darkin hated the others, tried to keep to themselves after but was treated no differently by the Aspects when it came to capturing them. They regret what the Darkin did and want to make things right by finding the other Darkin and either killing them or convincing them to stop.

I honestly think most of Varus' lore is irrelevant after the Aatrox retcon.

His motivations make no sense however i still think the 5 darkin thing is still canon because most of them died to Zoe.
