I personally like every single one of them (still on the fence about the amumu ones rn but I'll prolly come around) I didn't think there was a waybtonprefer the old ones. The originals are soooo dated looking...
Everyone has different taste. Not everyone is going to like the same thing.
Personally, there are some Chinese splash arts that are amazing and some that are just plain awful.
The thing is: some of them display a whole different kind of character than the old ones. See Akalis Crimson splash. Looks like Bloodmoon, but it isn't. Asside the whole bloody decapitated head in the foreground, this would cause more confusion than the "newness" would be worth
I like them, but find the Emumu splash art scary because of those yordles looking like ghosts in the background.

I recant the absolutist viewpoint from earlier. I would say MOST are better but the Crimson Akali is definitely completely different (loses the anime feel that the current one has (which is really odd considering the new one is Chinese)) and APK Amumu looks like a depressed Charlie Brown character. And other are confusing (why does LH Alistar look fiery?) But as mentioned earlier:
