Why so many "Evil" alligned champions? I want some more good guys!

Here are a list of champions by release date!

Aurelion Sol, The guy who thinks begging for mercy is "just adorable." Jhin, who kills for pleasure/because it looks like art and he's really good at it(?) Kindred, the literal embodiment of death itself. Tahm Kench, who makes deals with people and then has a tendancy to eat them afterwards. Ekko, the Vandal from Zaun who's like kind of good? But not really. Bard, the definition of neutral. Rek'Sai, who I have nothing to say about and her allignment is blatantly obvious. Kalista, the literal embodiment of vengeance itself. Azir, who's technically good NOW, but wasn't always. He's still mostly full of himself so whatever. Gnar, who has a knack for going green and hulk-smashing every single thing in front of him. Oops.

And finally, we come to Braum. The last 100% "good" guy to be released.

I'm sad because I really like "good" champions. Champions who are noble and virtuous!

NO, I SAID VIRTUOUS, NOT VIRTUOSO. JHIN, GET OUT OF HERE

You are generally wrong. A few of those are truely "Rotten" characters, but if we go by D&D logic:

Aurelion Sol: Probably a True Neutral or Neutral Evil. We don't know enough yet. Jhin: Definately a Chaotic Evil. Illaoi: Lawful Neutral. I would not say evil or good, but she certainly holds a sort of strict...belief up. Kindred: Unless you want to talk about the two characters separately, you've got both aspects of death in one "character".

  • Lamb: Lawful Neutral. She literally embodies the merciful and quiet death.
  • Wolf: Chaotic Neutral. He is the fearful wild death, usually to take down those who are long overdue and still refuse to die. Tahm Kench: Lawful Evil. He seems to uphold a certain standard and sophistication, but you can't argue he isn't somewhat evil, he's a demon. Ekko: Chaotic Good, or Chaotic Neutral, however his trailers and character make him seem more Good than anything else, but no respect for Law. **Rek'Sai: **Chaotic Evil. She's literally just primal rage/hunger and monstrosity in a can. Kalista: Chaotic Neutral. She's the spirit of Vengeance, usually for those innocent who were wronged. I would argue she's Good. Azir: Lawful Neutral. Doesn't seem Evil. Just, as you said, "Full of himself." He is an emporer after all. Gnar: Chaotic Furball. Shega Shega! Braum: Neutral Good. He's good natured but has a general lack of Law or Chaos in his design. By that definition, yes, he has been the last "True Good" character.

Even so, Good characters are hard to design because they usually end up being two dimensional. You can give many more motives for doing bad things than doing good things. If you pay attention to character and skin design for champions, some of the most interesting or well thought out designs are the disturbed/shattered characters (Jhin, Omega Squad Teemo, Tahm Kench, Sion, Gangplank). Who doesn't like an Antihero? (Or heroic antagonists?)

Kindred is not evil. Why would u call Kindred evil? Death is not evil.

U have strange view of evil. Kalista is neither good nor evil. Gnar isnt evil, he is aggressive by nature.

Kindred is neutral.

Ekko is a good guy, he's trying to clean up Zuan.

More good guys would be nice, but we need villains now and then.

The thing is that people are very rarely 100% good. Even good characters have their flaws, but that doesn't make them evil.

Ekko might be a street punk, but he is far from a bad person. I mean look at the comic,he went back in time over a hundred times just because he hoped he could be fast enough to rescue ajuna. And when he ran out of retries,he chose not to kill ajunas killer, but to be at ajunas side in his last moments. Later on when he fights the zaunite thug,he reverts time because he doesn't want the memorial to be destroyed, even though he risks his life while doing so.

Bard seems more to be lawful good, but in a strict way.He protects the world from evil, which is a good thing, but he doesn't do anything else, which is fine in its own way, because who is bard to judge human morality? Not to mention that his job is so important that he should focus all of his attention to it.

azir might be quite full of himself, but that doesn't mean he isn't good. Being good isn't the same as being nice. During his lifetime Azir was a benelovent ruler,he abolished the slavery and geniunly wanted the best for his people and nation

And you make it sound like gnar is a ticking time bomb.Yes he has his anger problems, but does that make him evil?I mean there is a reason why the hulk is often seen as a good guy.

Also some of the champs you listed here aren't evil, merely neutral. Kindred is death, which treats everyone the same and is simply a part of nature Rek'sai is a beast, she isn't more evil than a lion or any other animal Illaoi is strict and her test might kill you,but she does it trying to help you.its the sort of "sink or swim"-help Kalista is also rather neutral, she is more like a weapon, you can make a pact with her if you choose to and then she helps you, thats all.

Death is not Evil.

Ekko seems Chaotic Good.

Gnar is a small child.

Aurelion Sol, Total bad guy. Kindred, A fucking sociopath and psychopath spirit-combo that think they are the embodiment of death. Jhin, murderous artist. Tahm Kench Fat bastard that eats distraught people.

The rest you can scratch as they are not truly evil. But you have a good point.

DrCyanide3/4/2016, 2:20:22 PM2 votes

Yeah, this is something my wife's particularly disappointed about with the new champion. She loves astronomy and everything star related, but doesn't like playing evil characters.

Ironclad Dragon3/7/2016, 1:03:23 AM1 votes

So, "evil" is defined as anyone remotely flawed or disagreeable? Apparently the grim reaper is evil, a street kid from a rough town is evil, and a child is evil.

Gentzer3/4/2016, 3:27:01 PM1 votes

I dunno If Aurelion Sol is evil more...condescending.

He's virtually godlike, and so far it just seems like he's rubbing it in a bit.

Also Kindred and Kalista aren't that evil.
