Yorick's story

There are many shades of death there, and each is embraced rather than feared or reviled. One can only ascend from one state to the next with the magical aid of a skilled professional. At the end of the first Rune War, Yorick Mori made his living as a gravedigger. His family owned and maintained the Final Rest Memorial, one of the oldest cemeteries in Valoran. The shovel he employed for his work had been passed down for generations. Each gravedigger taught his son that this shovel was imbued with the spirit of every forefather, and that those spirits would protect him during the long lonely nights amongst the tombstones. To his eternal regret, Yorick died without an heir, bringing the proud Mori line to a close. His body was interred with his shovel in the family mausoleum, and the Final Rest Memorial soon fell to ruin. Death, however, was not the end Yorick had expected.
Don't you think that making him simply die with no clue why he died leaves a hole in his lore? I thought that he could actually hate their family's traditions, and the reason why he didn't leave a heir was the fact that his wife has passed away due to a terrible disease which was later contracted by Yorick himself, or maybe was even murdered by someone from Shadow Isles. He gave up on himself and was cruelly killed and deformed by his nemesis, which he tried to kill with only weapon and instrument he ever had - a shovel. He didn't only regret the fact that he didn't leave a heir, but he also hated the fact how meaningless his existence will be if he don't fulfill his destiny.

Maybe he was seeking for revenge so hatefuly, that even Kalista was only a drag to him and he didn't accept his fate being avenged by a spirit of hers. Maybe the Shadow Isles themself gave him opportunity to come back from the dead for two simple reasons: to avenge his and his wife's murderer and not just to become an eternal gravedigger, but a slave to that land. And he has accepted such terms with a great pleasure.
