Mordekaiser is made of black mist?

So I was wondering for a while now actually, even more since Yorick's rework reveal - his cape being made of black mist - Is Mordekaiser's "body" made of black mist? We know that Mordekaiser is made of black smokish substance and that he is the only undead, whose mind wasn't altered (perhaps expect Karthus) and the only undead who is not bound by black mist - Maybe it is so, because of the simple fact that Mordekaiser is his own black mist.

When taken all league undead into consideration, we get two categories: The Dark-Fantasy and Thaumaturgical undead - and they are quite diffrent from each other. Thaumaturgical like Sion, having their conciousness fading, losing themselves, becoming more of a tool than a living unliving creature, while the dark-fantasy type, while being twisted, are pretty much the same person. And the thing that is missing from the thaumaturgical, while being present in dark-fantasy (Mordekaiser and all Shadow Isles undead) is the black smokish substance. So clearly Mordekaiser being made of something so similar can't be just a comeplete accident. (While I do realize that Mordekaiser looked like that waaaaay before any black mist appeared in the lore, I don't think he was meant to be made of black smoke, as on his model you could always see his face - As such I assume him being black smoke is a recent thing.)

And I do realize most of you don't really care, especially about such a champion as Mordekaiser, but I am super interested in his story so! Time for the poll:

Mordekaiser is way older than the Mist, he is described in his lore as a ghost of pure malice with red shining eyes.

There is anyway some sort of connection between those two. It might be though that Mordekaiser is "just" the ultimate undead because he is able to control and manipulate the Mist at his will, plus he can control and feed all the souls the Mist captures.

It's really hard to say but I would say it would be some kind of intangible entity under his armour since his actual body is definitely not what he's using. I believe his lore goes as far to state that so long as his actual remains are intact and not found, Mordekaiser will simply resurrect over and over again so he might also have a physical body similar to Sauron from LOTR but that was before the shadow isles.

From the lore I can remember the Black Mist is a result of corpse being combine with the pure/holy water of the Sacred Isles.

As we have no information at all about the ritual performed on Mordekaiser's bones it is safe to theorize that a small amount of this water could have been used in the ritual. This makes sense when you take into account that the black smoke that makes up Mordekaiser's form has sentience as the Black Mist is also described as having intelligent tendencies.

To answer the question, yes and no. Yes, he very well could be made of black mist. And no, he is not made of The Black Mist as it seems the Shadow Isles mist is the wife of the Ruined King. They used just the right amount of water on Mordekaiser but the poor woman tossed in the lake wasn't given the same forethought of moderation.

Perhaps blessed isles water was used in his revive ritual?

The Black Mist originates from the Blessed Isles eternal waters corrupted by the Ruined King's spell. It's not a particular substance by itself, it's just cursed mist. The Black Mist seeks life force and binds living beings to death, trapping them in an eternal limbo between life and "beyond". Mordekaiser is not affected by it because he was already undead.
