My thoughts on New Summoners Rift - Directional Arrows

On the new Summoners Rift I don't like how there are all these arrows pointing us in one direction. It makes the map feel VERY linear. I feel as if I'm going to get one of those "Turn Back! Wrong Way!" indicators from racing games pop up if I move in the opposite direction. I know why Riot put them there, "To create direction", but it is a little over-kill.

Take a look at bot lane. There are so many arrows pointing us which way to go, you might as well have just written "Go this way ------>" on the ground. Make it a bit more subtle. A patch of grass, a fallen stone. It looks as if each arrow was actually an archway that has fallen over, but there are no signs of that being right.

Mid lane seems to be a bit better because there is only one main arrow, but everywhere else is a little to much. It makes the map feel less like a serine mountain top battleground and more like a guided tour of the nature reserve. Those are just my feelings towards it and I hope the opinion of one person catches Riots attention.

Here's a picture of mid lane.

It is a little silly, but I guess it's to help new players navigate the map easier (Although that takes, what, 2 games to get used to?).

But it does make me hope Riot takes inspiration from that DOTA Dash mod:

I'm glad others find it is a little silly. I'm not saying that it is bad and they should not nave the arrows, just that they need to tone them down. Have fewer and more subtle ones. A patch of grass, a bunch of flowers or a boulder. Something that isn't just outright "This Way" arrows.

In the Old Summoners Rift you had little sign posts with skulls and cross-bones on them pointing into the jungle and other signs for back to base. They were outright telling you which way to go, but in the New SR those arrows on the ground are basically the same thing but for the lanes.

For a new player surely its not that hard to grasp which direction you go to find the enemy. The minions move one way. The towers point in the same way. Does Riot really think new players are that dumb to not know which way to go?
