So is Qiyana a villain?

I read Qiyana's story and it pretty much makes Qiyana out to be a villain which is confusing because she's the character meant to introduce us to a new nation and we end up hating her and not wanting her to succeed because she seems like a pure villain, but she isn't even an interesting villain. She just has more power than her siblings without having to work for it and feels that she is better than everyone else. Why exactly is riot introducing a nation with a villain that has some of the blandest motives and has a cliche backstory?

She's a dick, has pride in her nation more than she should, thinking they are better than they are. She doesn't 'get it' and is stubborn. Although I agree, not every character can be completely unique and special. The trope of a disgruntled prince/princess is familiar but I can't think of where from. Where they think the direction of their siblings and parents are wrong for the nation but in reality they are wrong.

I think her story and personality is ok and bratty pips like her can make the story interesting making her look like an anti-hero in the future/future stories. I think riot can redeemed her because she only has that attention/narcissistic issue this time although i think she could change for the better or worst.

PS: I think her character if for lore progression.

If that's her story then her crown and hair makes so much more sense. That is not the headpiece of a legitimate ruling Empress, that the TIARA of a bratty entitled pageant queen

Don't worry. She'll probably get some horrible disease, die, and take her city with her because she ignored the very clear warning from her parents.

Gods only know what fucking diseases the people of Piltover carry. Not only do they have their own diseases, they're a huge trade hub, so they probably got some diseases from Ionia and other places they trade with as well. Plus whatever the fuck Zaun has.

Qiyana will eventually see the consequences of her actions. She'll probably win, but at what cost? Her empire would most likely end up ravaged by war and disease, probably ending up as all but extinct. I very seriously doubt that's the empire she wants to rule.

Because why not. It's always like that, someone gets more by birth than someone can with years of work. No training or anything can make you run like Jusein Bolt. Aint gonna happen. Someone is born with genetics of Apolon himself while still being smarter than average person. Even from rich family, while someone else lives on the edge of poverty while looking like a scarecrow. Its only natural. Those 2 i names and all the middlegrounds you can imagine. Our "principals" and codex of nice behavior and so on teach us that we are born equal but when u just think 5 minutes you can see that its not like that. So if Qiyana is the way she is because she is gifted by birth or whatever, let it be. We accepted Draven, many love him. We will have Qiyana mains for sure. Imagine that there are actual Garen mains. God that champ sounds so low in his VO but who cares still played. Have you listened to Illaoi? LoL. Eve sounds like a se*ual worker. And my do i love her for that. We have a spot for the lil narcissistic girl why not

To me she lacks the charisma of a villain.

She is just a cocky kid/teen that got followers because of her magic prowess. She doesn’t display any intelligent trait and her attack on Piltovians is just a show of her poor character.

Anyway, it’s pretty clear that Piltovians will just be cannon fodder to boost the new faction/champion spotlight. And it sucks.

I feel like they should have made her grin or smirk in her splash. Because she isn't she looks like a brat who's next line is gonna be "I'm supposed to put THAT in my mouth?". In her story they made her out to be the youngest of a nobility and she developed an inferiority complex. Then she turned out to have extreme talent in commanding the elements. She then goes on to deny her parents and siblings and outright challenges her eldest sibling and beats her without a fight. At the end of the story she feels denied for her prowess of elements and strength. And finally the group of elementalists shield her and them along with the populous of the nation respect her.

Does anyone else think that would make her seem more...confident than she is displayed in her splash? She plain looks like a brat who is gonna squash you cuz you looked at her, instead of a princess who finally got the respect she deserved and knows you respect/fear her.

If they made her grin or smirk, she would have looked 10x more confident than she does.

Riot has written their story in a way where you get to decide who you think is a bad guy/ good guy. Ivern could be seen as a bad guy and Morde could be seen as a good guy. It's your choice. Everyone on runeterra is given a backstory and a reason for what they do what they do, you get to decide if you think they're a villian or not. It's not a yes or no answer. The fact that you don't understand this is beyond me.

Qiyana feels like a waste of champion space to me to be honest. However that is just my opinion, at least I am not calling her a Smite character. Seen a lot of people do that. Ouch.

I think they will make her a revenge related character. We can see that from the explosion on her backround which probably is the piltoverian tank which was collecting wood from her homeland on her teaser. My thought at least.
