One lore event a year does not mean you are continuously releasing new bits of lore. Im sure the event will give us a lot of info, but if the lore team stays silent the rest of the year, nobody will be happy.
Also, a lot of the event's lore isn't 'new' in the sense that things actually move forward, it's 'new' in the sense that it's content we didn't have prior. They're filling in the cracks left by their own retcon.
Related: surprise revealing this event a short time before it's launched does not count as communicating about upcoming 'lore' stuff.
