Doesn't Yi's lore mention how the Noxians unleashed a chemical attack on Yi's home, and that "Those who somehow survived the poisonous concoction had their minds twisted beyond repair"?

A slight change to Yi's lore, (possibly in addition to a Viktor level update,) and the "minds twisted beyond repair" could easily become some sort of paranoia and hallucinations, causing Yasuo to think he was being chased and think he'd killed his brother. It would tie in nicely with the "Do not trust corrupted memories" hint too.

This is literally the only explanation I'd accept for Yi and Yasuo to be connected.

Interesting, but i could argue Yasuo was hunted down after the Noxian invasion. We know he left the elder side to join the defense of Ionian territory against Noxian Forces. After the battle he was accused of the murder and we don't actually know how much long his escape from the autorities have gone for.

Yasuo has 3 special taunts for Master Yi. Yasuo believes Master Yi to be one of the possible killers of the man Yasuo was charged to protect with his life. Also Master Yi is another Samurai, but Yasuo believes himself to be the superior Samurai.
