Meaning the Noxus invasion of Ionia? The war between demacia and noxus? Is that all still canon just the stuff about the league and the institute isn't?
I'm curious to know for futurue character designs and concepts as well as how things all fit together now. Thanks!
Nobody knows, i thnk even riot doesnt know what the fck is canon anymore.
The Noxian invasion of Ionia is still canon although without a League to resolve stuff afaik the three southern provinces are still occupied by Noxus.
The whole Kalamanda conflict is...I dunno really. I'm assuming it's not canon anymore but Noxus and Demacia have had tons of wars in the past that're still canon, most recently revealed being the one where Sion died while killing Jarvan I.
I think kalamanda is still canon considering that swain talked about a "charade" that involved the use of J4s blood,most likely referencing the kalamanda incident where J4 suddenly attacked swain.
So while we can't be sure if it is still canon or not,it certainly looks like it is gonna stay canon(but most likely with a different ending).
As Sharjo said, these events apparently still happened, we just know absolutely nothing of the fine details or how the changes in the way that they played out have changed the state of Valoran and the political climate between its city-states. Basically we just have to accept that things are canon, no matter how awkward or illogical, until Riot either institutes retcons to explain their changes or writes them out of continuity altogether.
So how did we get this item?
Everything is canon still - just remove the League, IoW, and Summoners from everything.
Messy answer? Yeah. And it's still a mess.
