A Sad Reality of League's New Lore
It's simply too late. I had faith that the narrative team would be able to deliver something amazing, that would make the wait worthwhile. However I don't feel like it's even possible anymore. The wounds are too deep after the short bios of Graves TF and GP were added to the PBE. I want to believe that I'm wrong and they've created something better than anything I could imagine, but i just don't see that happening across the board for all the champions whose pasts they've gutted.
After reading other posts on this board I've come to the realization that the secrecy of Jaredan and the rest of the narrative team is what caused the divide. Its a lot harder to keep faith in someone for almost a year, when all they do is say "trust that something more is coming, but in the meanwhile, here's a short bio". It doesn't work like that. Trust is something that is built, and without communication or transparency there is no foundation for it to be built.
With each short bio, the fans die a little inside. There's a sense of fear for the aspects of a champion's story might be gone forever. The short bios tend to pose more questions than it solves, and with no clear indicator that more is coming other than the usual trademarked "Soon" the promises are empty.
I understand that the technology to support the vision of the Narrative team might not be ready yet, which is fine. However what I don't understand is why the team simply cannot tell us a story worth hearing until this day. I really hope Jaredan sees this thread and understands that I only wish to express where I feel the team has room for improvement and ways to improve their efforts in the future.
