What's the deal with the mural?

You know... the one up at the top of the screen against the wall in the dark area that depicts the two warriors whose image makes up the tower statues on either team and the broken crystal?

Future champions? Secret identity of helmet bro?

Tell me please!

For those who are unfamiliar: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_fWhJ6YuHd0/VQF4T73DRiI/AAAAAAAAl5w/Swq7D4oQcg8/s1600/1pbe.jpg

I understand it to be a reference for the Protectorate/Magelord conflict Summoner's Rift is intended to represent.

I couldn't honestly tell you, but to me it shows that there was a battle on the rift and that it was an honorable one, given the way the two forces bow to each other. Mind you, just to the left of the mural is a faded engraving of a familiar looking figure...Aatrox...potentially meaning their conflict ended up being interfered with, leading to the ruination of both sides.

Not saying it was Aatrox, but it was probably Aatrox

On a side note, the Porowl they just added to the pbe as a SR critter makes me wonder if the mages (red side) specifically used the Porowl as the basis for their architectural style. If it's true I'd love to see a matching stag creature in the rift!

Since the new updates for Howling Abyss, Twisted Treeline, Crystal Scar and Summoners Rift (Map, minions and structures), I have came to some interesting conclusions:

  • Summoners Rift and Crystal Scar have two distinct sides (or at least trough minions for CS map) , both are ether Red and Blue symbolizing that both these maps are a neutral battleground for both these sides.

  • Twisted Treeline is heavily influence by the Magelords, all of their structures are similar to the red team ones you would see on the on SR map. The Shadow Isles by itself is a run away magical disaster, only capable if someone was open to freely use magic at its fullest, with no protection or security measures. There is no Red side, rather its purple.

  • Howling Abyss is heavily influenced by the Protectorates, all of their structures are similar to the blue team ones you would see on the SR map. The Watchers gates are the only opposing aspect on that map, their presence sorta clashes with the overall theme (fits perfectly within lore, since the Watchers were beings that did their own thing, outside of what humans did). Same as with TT, there is no red side, but a purple one.

This theory is also backed by the fact that Braums shield (door or what not) shares some similarities with the stag crest.

The new Porowl basically explains the Magelord architectural influence, which leads to the conclusion that I wanna know more about those birds (besides SR in general).

The world of Runeterra, as I see it is going to heavily incorporate the Control vs. Freedom thematic very often see in literature and media in general. For example right of the back, the Assassins Creed series (Free Assasins vs. Controling Templars), Dragon Age series (Mages vs. Templars; Tevinter vs. The Qun...), Command & Conquer Tiberium series (GDI vs. NOD)....

Another note: Crystal Scar is well due for a Full Relaunch (its lore is old, the gameplay needs help, the appearance of the map is outdated), I wonder what they will do with it, will they make it like a neutral battleground area, or will they make it something distinct and unique or possibly incorporating the thematics of one of the opposing sides.

Oh come on, how da fuck am I downvote for that theory, while I bet you wont downvote it if Sharjo posted it.

Could be something about how league of legends began. IT looks like the two people are bowing to the nexus.
