Some questions about the Zilean lore

  • Why is Aatrox a related champion now

  • Zilean removed a structure from the flow of time, so the people he saved but are indefinitely frozen. Or do they live like Zilean? Is the tower still visible in Runeterra? I'm a bit confused about this but I'm POSITIVE it's a thread that will be followed up in future Zilean lore.

  • Why exactly was Icathia so eager to rebel? From what I read, they were very prosperous under Shuriman rule, and I know the bio says the Shurimans were basically racists, but "Where Icathia Once Stood" framed the rebellion as a very violent and passion driven event, surely there is more to the story? Icathia seemed to be deeply peaceful and philosophical and diverse, why would they flip and go so violent? Void influence???

Thank you the updated for Zilean was amazing!!!!

Aatrox was likely part of the battle against Icathia, which is why they are related

the tower is in it's own time bubble I believe. all the people in are frozen in time. only Zilean, having studied time magic for so long, can move freely.

no idea why they wanted to rebel. they had some resentment for never being acknowledged for ascension. that's basically all we know. its hinted the ruling council may have been influenced by the void, and that they then mobilized the armies.

also no idea his was updated. I do like this for Zilean update. didnt retcon much, just expanded it

1.Aatrox was once an ascended, so Zilean might know Aatrox personally(before he became a darkin), its also possible that Aatrox was there when Icathia fell and simply survived the battle. 2. The people are frozen in time, I imagine that it's like activating item 3157 and being unable to leave the stasis. We don't know if you can access the tower from the outside, but I guess that even if you could, you would be unable to interact with anyone there. 3.Icathia was appearantly a very proud nation and they didn't like it already that Shurima was controlling them. And being treated as an inferior nation only hurt their pride even more. Zileans story also implies that some of the ruling council members started to go mad when they uncovered the secrets of the void, so maybe they were manipulated by the watchers.

  1. Aatrox Bio

When Setaka, the Ascended warrior-queen, called for his help against the rebellion of Icathia, Aatrox answered without hesitation.

I got hype to hoping for future meaningful interaction, but deflated pretty hard when I found this. Aatrox could make use of some kind of temporal catastrophe that Zilean is capable of creating as a way to achieve his goal of ending the world effectively
