Will skins splash arts be updated or what?!?

How is it possible that in 2015 i have to look at THAT.

HOW. IS. IT. POSSIBLE

So... we got the majority (not all) of the base splash arts updated (even Anivia... finally). But Riot doesn't seem to care about the skin splash arts at all. I searched and i found nothing said by Riot about this. Most of the old skin splash SUCKS ASS. They look like a game from the early 90's and that is being generous. I have no idea how they even came into existance, but it's not possible for a player to buy a skin and see this stupid splash art always. I'm an "old" player so i don't give much weight to it anymore, but try to put yourself in the shoes of a NEW PLAYER. A new player see"Oh free Riot girl Tristana skin? I'll get it now!" Only to realize that he could do a better splash art in Microsoft Paint (This is not even a joke is real)

There are a TON of splash art of skins that should be updated, and no one seems to care about it. I'm not happy with just having the base splash art updated, i want consistency, and RIot certainly can slowly update these things.

CASE CLOSED. UPDATE THESE THINGS.

lol they havent even updated many splash that need update asap: Amumu Fiddlesticks Corki Evelynn Galio Irelia Kennen Malzahar Nasus Rammus Skarner Teemo Warwick XinZhao Yorick and i'm not putting Taric and Poppy in here cause hopefully they will get it in the upcoming rework... so yeah skin splashes are definately not priority right now...

PS. I do have the free skin of tristana but obviously i dont use it classic is eons better...

Teemo's doesnt need update it was updated recently even after Garen/Annie ones, same with Amumu and Corkis, and the other splash arts i dont think theyl update them in another 5 years at least

it doesnt matter when the last update happened it matters how it looks right now and teemo's splash looks like paint while now the new champs splashes are more digital they need to balance the whole image. just compare teemo's splash with kindred's, they look like they are from different games.

what are you talking about man have you seen it? it looks decent and up to date, if they ever change it again it will be only if teemo gets new clothes in his visual update and i just saw that you posted that Nasus splash art needs to change too while he got his new splash art same day with his complete visual update, your list is really weird

And that is only to make the actual piece, assuming you get it perfect in the first try.

Exploration and ideation can take a good amount of time, and the iterative process of corrections and refinement, factoring review and approval can push a singular splash well into a multiple weeks timeframe.

Yeah. I want to throw out Pharoah Nidalee too. That looks like something drawn by a kindergarten class.

And any champ that just has BLACK as a background for their base splash (Rammus, Poppy). What the hell is going on there!?

It's not that Riot doesn't care about updating the splash art skins, but rather that their artists are busy with other projects. They stated in a post a few years ago that it made more sense to prioritize upcoming things or base champion splashes instead of skin splashes due to their available manpower, so that's why Lolipoppy is still a freakish abomination and Gem Knight Taric looks awful.

Base splash updates have been coming out relatively regularly every couple months for the champions who still need them, so have no fear that Rammus and Xin Zhao will eventually get some love tossed their way.

I know that they have a time schedule and have to put resources where it matters. I know that.

But i also want Riot to aknowledge the problem wich actually a pretty big deal if you ask me.

I'm fairly certain that they're aware it's a problem. It's just a question of how MUCH of a problem it is. Creating new content is what brings in players and keeps older players happy, so it need to be prioritized. Updating older art is an issue for sure, but it's not an incredibly important one at this moment. I'm fairly positive they're already updating older splashes when they have time - just gotta be patient.

I just started 3 months ago :D My friend told me i would get Riot Girl Trist if i liked their FB, so I did. AND I LITERALLY SCREAMED. I mean, RG Trist in pretty cute in game (comes complete with weird pink hairdo, but well it's life) but the old splash is...Tristana item 3070
