Did Bard take the Moonstone?

Hey League Community! During the Bard Q & A, someone caught that the artifact Bard took away in Bard:Mountain had potential of being the Moonstone that Nami (The Tidecaller) has been looking for to save her people, the Marai. Now, looking at all the things we know, we can speculate on the rest. I have attached a picture of the artifact in question, and Nami's staff, where a particular artifact can be somewhat identified towards the distal end of it.

From here, I'm going to look at what is said in both lore and in dialogue of Bard:Mountain. Let's start with the description of where the moonstone is found in Nami's lore:

"The Tidecaller's sacred duty is to acquire a moonstone, a powerful object found only in the towering reaches of the surface world. "

We know that the artifact was kept high up in the mountains, "the towering reaches of the surface world."

"There, on the night of the winter solstice of the hundredth year, the Tidecaller makes a ceremonial exchange with a landwalker bearing a moonstone. "

It is likely that the designated bearer of the artifact was the old man, who was suppose to exchange it with the Tidecaller for a Abyssal Pearl. The nature of the Abyssal Pearl is not well known, but since a new moonstone is suppose to be provided every hundred years, perhaps the pearl takes in the cosmic energy and becomes a moonstone?

Now looking at what the old man had said in Bard:Mountain, as Bard took the stone and flew away, the old man said "They'll die without it." Sure he might mean his own people, but I highly doubt it. He was carrying the stone away from the battle, and away from his people. No, I believe he meant the Marai will die without it, as they require the moonstone to hold back the "terrors of the depths". Sadly, this means that Bard may be the indirect cause of The Marai's destruction. Now invalid after further evaluation. "We'll die without it." (Thanks to Narashima for pointing it out. Old man was difficult to hear.)

If you look at Nami's staff, where the marking resembling the artifact is are three dots. I colored them in on my attached image, but if you look at Nami's splash art they are still obviously there. These three points may be representative of the three mountains which the shrines were located on, and in connection, to Bard.

These are simply what I could dig up with a side of my thoughts. What do you all think? Feel free to continue the discussion below!
