I just noticed this when I played Jhin

Upon starting the game, has a few lines he can say like many other champions. What's special about though, is that he sometimes hums a little melody which symbolizes how he prepares himself mentally for his performance.

I think it's amazing, it allows one to really feel like they are one with their champion. Only thing that saddens me is that this thing doesn't play every time you start a new game, and are sometimes replaced with one liners.

Why does this not play every time you start a new game as Jhin?

To answer your question.
Variety. Our general guideline for all in-game character lines is to deliver variety in: tone, length, timbre, context, and emotion. If we played the humming at the start of every game you played with Jhin you would either (A) get sick of it or (B) tune out.

This is also the goal with longer scripts and odd asides -- we want to give you something to discover for hundreds --even thousands of games.

Yes, that is one of the many awesome things about Jhin, I also like when he starts the match while breathing heavily, like if the anticipation was too much and he is really nervous, like about to go out on the scenario to begin the play

Jhin is, arguably, one of the most flavorful characters in personality, gameplay, theme, voice and design.

With that being said, I like that variety of lines from time to time.
