Can we get SOMETHING about Ionia since the retcon?

The Noxian invasion of Ionia is the pivotal point for a lot of Ionians, for some like Karma and Irelia it's the most important event in their life. Except, in the old lore, the league stepped for the Trial for the Isle which resolved the conflict. Now we got... Nada. Characters are in a state of purgatory until we know and it's quite frustrating.

As far as I know, and this may be total bollocks so keep this in mind; Ionia's in a state that corresponds to if the League had never intervened to begin with, as such Noxus still occupies it's three southern provinces: Navori, Shon'xan and Galdrin. If we go by years from the JoJ this occupation's been going on for about 20 years now so I recon there's some major alterations involved.

So basically, afaik, Ionia's gonna have to get it's provinces back once again, this time with no League match, which probably means:

  • Lee Sin'll burn himself in protest, thus spurring more dedicated Ionian resistance
  • Ao Shin decides to come along
  • Varus'll keep on murdering Noxians
  • Riven'll be doing...something

Oh and also, given Bard: Mountain's existence, while that didn't happen during the occupation (it's set decades before that), it stands to reason the new justification for Noxus wanting to invade Ionia is for magical relics like the egg from that video.

Meanwhile Shen Kennen Akali and Zed are all sitting down playing a card game.

We got a small glimpse in the Bard reveal. Basically Bard took the artifact a elder was going to use and "saved" Ionia even though it looks like they were butchered by Noxus. At least we know the war is still canon.

I have a hunch that Noxus attacking Ionia thing has been happening for at least a century.

Well, the Order of Shadows is so entrenched in Ionian culture they have temples of some significance according to Gangplank's new lore. So that's new, I suppose.

If I had to guess, the key to everything lies in the east.

I don't know which direction Ionia is.
