Has the Lore/Art Team Left a Bad Taste in Your Mouth Recently?

I've personally been a big fan of the lore lately, even with the lack of any word on Ionia I enjoyed Fiora's lore immensely and the writing for the Shadow Isles and Bilgewater was really solid. After seeing this I'm not going to lie, I got heated. The blatant disrespect for the character is unfitting for a Riot employee, especially one who works on the art team and has shown so much incredible love for his characters. Really, she was literally the light of Ionian hope during the war, defied death with pure patriotism, will power, and a bit of celestial magic and you just go "Meh, we might just make her ionian garen" and then mumbling something about tying her to some random people to "enrich her world relations"

I expected better of you IronStylus.

Well you take a post completely out of context and then get pissed about someone spouting ideas.

Stylus was responded to a post about making irelia undead it appears.

It also looks like he is just giving general ideas.

Also this post is super old.

If you're involved in doing anything with the champion... you should freakin' read about the champion. That's the part that kills me. If he'd said "We read her old lore and decided to downplay the revival thing" fine. Some might disagree, but fine. If he's not involved in Irelia at all and was just idly commenting... kinda telling of his priorities in the game to not care about champs that aren't his... but fine. There's a lot of champs. GOD KNOWS you don't need to care about 'em all.

But if you're involved in anything with that champ. Visuals. Story. Kit design. Voice work. It's REALLY unprofessional and sloppy to not do your research. It's not like there is a 400 page epic written about Irelia.... you could read all her lore, her judgement, her backstory AND a pile of fanfics if you wanted in less than a single afternoon. It's crap like that statement that feeds the "rito doesn't care about ____ champ" stuff.

From that comment it sounds like Ironstylus himself isn't really working Irelia(or at least not in terms of story),I think that everyone has a few champs where they aren't familiar with the story(I for example always forget whats the story of Akali and kennen besides the fact that they are members of the kinkou trio) and he just puts out some ideas that look more like he just thought them up.

Also that post is roughly a year old,so I dunno how this falls under "recently"

There are plenty of examples of Riot not knowing its own lore sadly.

Nope.

Lore content has been better this year than any previous year (Including pre-retcon, despite how many people argue that the old lore was on-par with Lord of the Rings or something) and the comment you took was extremely out of context.

Honesty, if IronStlyus is involved, he's going to fuck it up. For some reason he always feels that he has to change everything, even if it's in a good spot, he'll fuck it up. For example Fiora's new design. What was wrong either her old one? Nothing. Yet what's he do? He changes it for no reason. He doesn't really know what he's doing imo.

To answer your question,eh a little from the lore people.Though,it's more like a slowly growing pile of frustration that's been growing since the freaking retcon last year. Speaking of Ironstylus,he has not comment on the Boards in forever.And by forever,I mean since the Fiora update.
