Yes, yes this is a really old topic. But recently Riot deals with space very often. https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fPTYqR-Iq4Y/Wfv2yali79I/AAAAAAAAym8/xqIMT9mzCUYNsY-BLsZzj43jHGa1JWu3QCLcBGAs/s1600/1.jpg Zoe, Aurelion Sol, Deep Space Illaoi, Dark Star skins, Cosmic Blade Yi... I feel like this meadow-like map doesn't fit anymore for most of the new champions and reworks. Don't misunderstand me. I don't demand to change the map. But we could at least get a night map for a limited time. Maybe for a space event? ( But not with limited champions for promoting skins... these kind of events are very bad. ) Or we could get a night map coding for certain time zones. Any possible way would be good for a night map which is really represents night and not just gets a red filter like the Doom Bots map.

Maybe, depending on ur time zone, when its night irl the game changes night. And when its day the map changes to day! That sounds cool, and your edited pic looks professional.[sg-lux]

Cool as it sounds, battlefield illumination is usually a gameplay mechanic, and not an aesthetic choice.

Night map would require very fine tuning to not alter the experience significantly, at which point it might as well be "night".

AirKingNeo11/3/2017, 11:07:31 PM9 votes

Make the fire on the rift's lamps also work.

Also sunset mode when?

Hexshot11/3/2017, 9:46:12 PM5 votes

holy moly this is an actual good idea to league that I didn't see for a while I'd like the idea of it changing when its night on the player time zone [zombie-brand-mindblown]

Tesla Effect11/3/2017, 5:35:48 PM5 votes

Im totally up for the map to change with the time of day and seasons.

I personally think game maps should rotate in normal/custom games (maybe not ranked)

Normal. Night. Blightwater or whatever etc. Then during holidays, harrow map and snow map.

I think what would be a REALLY interesting idea for the Rift is to maybe add like a time cycle. Like not just pick a map with day or night, but instead play the map normally and as time goes by the day shifts to night.

Dokueki Kenshin11/3/2017, 8:16:11 PM4 votes

Yes. Make this happen. Keep the dream alive.

EDIT: Also, make the particles illuminate the area around them. Additionally, maybe it could be tested as an alternative game mode?

thats pretty cool man take this upvote

Aerostaticus11/3/2017, 6:03:33 PM3 votes

Finally someone said it. Nice editing btw ^^ Ive wanted a night summoners rift for quite some time now

Bulging Llama11/4/2017, 1:32:10 AM3 votes

I think this would be great. However, the time of the map would have to be universal for all 10 players, as perhaps being day/night could bring advantages depending on what skins and abilities are at play. The team at Riot would have to make sure all abilities and in-game UI/HUD can be seen equally. So there aren't any advantages of being day or night.

Hi im his Wαifu11/3/2017, 8:41:59 PM3 votes

Yes please !! It would be awesome if the map changes to the "nightmode" dependent on your timezone. You did great work with the edit too [sg-lux]

Killaburn11/3/2017, 5:12:53 PM3 votes

My take with this is that every 5 minutes there would be a change in the day/night cycle in LOL specially in SR. There would also be a dusk and a dawn too in between.

gekyùme11/4/2017, 12:48:59 AM2 votes

just upload this to mapskins.com

Fasmodey11/3/2017, 5:40:18 PM2 votes

I like night more than day and I dig into this idea.

But they together are better, so I think It would be better to have cycle.

Rayjay Redfang11/3/2017, 6:48:10 PM2 votes

I love this. Evening shade would also be nice with a sunset.

KevinSpacey99911/3/2017, 7:15:44 PM2 votes

Dont get me wrong, I beleive that this is a really cool idea but I think it would mess up a color blind person's view of the game as well as many particles being nearly invisible so a lot of skins/champions in general would need to change.

SoryInAdvance11/3/2017, 8:13:03 PM2 votes

Really cool looking concept...seriously doubt that it would work though. the lighting is kind of important when dealing with some situational stuff like nocturne ult and blinds, etc.

GentlemanGhidora11/3/2017, 8:34:06 PM2 votes

As someone who has never had the chance to play on ANY of the seasonal map designs of old, I’d love anything that wasn’t bright-sunshine Summoner’s Rift.

I would love this! +1

Night rift sounds fascinating! Wonder what rocks Taliyah will get when the nighttime comes.

nothing new. There are a ton of map skins out that you can already use. I am partial to the Beach Rift one personally

Toppien11/23/2017, 2:05:13 AM1 votes

im already bored of seeing the same summoners rift all the time, give the mian map some skins, and i mean complete themes, not just changing the towers... and inhibs...

xGunna111/4/2017, 5:17:12 PM1 votes

NO THE SKILLSHOTS WILL BE HARD TO SEE

OK IF IT IS A CHOICE U CAN DISABLE IN SETTINGS

Dr Poro11/4/2017, 6:21:25 PM1 votes

As long as you turn it off, because void champs would be OP with invisible purple abilities, much like thay snowwin ziggs skin in ARAM.

TrumpTheThicc11/4/2017, 7:01:38 PM1 votes

The one reason riot couldnt do this is because theyd be blamed for copying dota 2s day and night cycle system. also the night map would make some champs blend in. thats the best part about leagues design is the champions "pop" from the map and are easy to notice. making teamfights and such easier on the players.

Cliffspringer11/4/2017, 9:35:26 PM1 votes

Riot won't do it if they can't profit from it somehow.

Atomic Dynamite11/4/2017, 10:13:32 PM1 votes

The only problem would be that at night it'd be harder to see the game itself, since when I'm in the deep dark jungle in the day it still feels very dark. But yeah, I am a big fan of the whole "summoner's rift should have different skins" idea. I would KILL for a futuristic, project-like Summoner's Rift!

Poppystar11/4/2017, 10:17:48 PM1 votes

Abilities would be so vibrant on this map. I'm sure I would be able to see things much easier

Aphelios MID11/4/2017, 10:24:04 PM1 votes

cool*[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]*

that's more like a star guardian night mode

Grubner11/4/2017, 11:04:55 PM1 votes

yes, but only at night.

Husha Seus11/5/2017, 4:00:51 AM1 votes

Well.. Let see here riot doesn't fix the champions who are broken, maybe petition for that. im joking that's pretty cool

YuGiHo11/5/2017, 6:51:50 AM1 votes

I would love it if they str8 rip the Day/night cycle from dota along with champions and items with new unique interactions during these times but that will never happen in leagues lifetime considering how long it takes them to make large changes to the base game, meanwhile Hots.....

GuardianH2711/5/2017, 1:55:30 PM1 votes

At the moment I clearly like the night map for aesthetic purposes!

I would like to raise an ergonomic issue here, Night Mode maps could implement night light feature. People play League all the time so I think that implementing maps with less vibrant colours during night time would reduce strain on eyes. Nothing against bright colours but night light is a native feature in Windows 10 and it does work it's charm when you get used to it.

I will never understand why Riot decided to sell us emotes, which nobody ever expressed any interest in, and still won't sell us map skins, which we literally beg them to allow us to buy, and currently sit in some poor interns desktop folder, never to be enjoyed by anyone ever again.

Jesus loved weed11/4/2017, 3:43:31 PM1 votes

This would've been great for The Harrowing theme, but now it's unfortunately over.

Maybe next year!
