Goblins in Runeterra?!

So, playing Ornn...since he's meta now. He has a quote "The Freljord forges men out of... whatever children are. Dirt, goblins." Based off his tone, it could be a metaphor to maybe the idea of "goblins" a fantasy term in their world for a make believe fairy tale creature, or he is actually referring to real goblins. Only other evidence i have is in the Demolisher Nunu splash art, there is clearly goblins being thrown about, figured this art isn't canon or anything but the fact they are there makes me wonder.

Could Ornn, or the concept of goblins, be referring to what could've been yordles?

[sg-janna] I just wanna know for my League based DnD campaign! I already made up "Feral Yordes" to fill in that goblin/kobold void.

During Kled's development he was noted as "almost a goblin" (or something to that effect), so it's very likely that "goblin" is just a term for yordles, particularly feral ones. I highly doubt we get a solid answer on this for a good while, so honestly just go with your headcanon.

In game quotes and alternate skinlines flirt with being canon, but aren't officially.

I could easily see goblins as a relative to trolls(or just as a term for troll children) in which case it'd make sense for them to be in the freljord since trolls are also living there.

Demolisher Nunu & Willump are part of the Rift Quest skin line, which is heavily referencing Tabletop RPG games like D&D. It would be kinda ironic if you start using Goblins in your campaign because of that.

I tried making a League of Legends D&D homebrew once.

After several hours of writing up different races, nations, finding a map that someone made, etc. Riot made another big lore retcon (I can't even remember which one) and I just hung up the towel.
