Hey guys, i am just wondering , do we really know what actually is Nautilus? what is his goal? what happened in the sea?
And why Thresh has special interactions with him? do they mean something?
Well he is one of my favorite champs, jsut wanted to know a little bit more :)
Nautilus was a diver on a research expedition. He encountered some force that grabbed hold of hem and did not let him resurface. Rather than try to save him, the crew left him for dead. When he woke up, he was fused to his diving suit, and could apparently survive underwater without any air. He walked along the ocean floor and eventually found land. His goal is to find the people who left him for dead and punish them.
There's no real connection with Thresh. It's just a joke about them both having hook abilities.
Assuming that the lore of nautilus remains almost unchanged(except for the IoW sending him on an expedition),it is most likely that Nautilus was consumed by the black mist,but that the undead didn't bother to search under water and thus overlooked him,I mean Bilgewater is known to get attacked by the undeads during the harrowing(the undeads are able to use the black mist as a form of transportation) and Nautilus was consumed by a black substance,that also caused his crew to abandon him.
I would actually find it really cool if the captain of the ship of Nautilus was turned into an undead and would become a new champion.
As for his connection with Thresh: Its just a joke about having hooks,I doubt there is a real connection here.
I'm happy to see more of these champion/story/lore discussion threads. With any luck, some of the narrative guys could read this to get an idea of what interests us and what we'd like to see in the future.
Theory: I believe that the black stuff that Nautilus fell into is connected to the Shadow Isles. The thing that pulled him in killed him, and he became a ghost. According to the lore, his goal is to get revenge on those who abandoned him. I'd love to see his past and/or future developed more.
Core Values: wants revenge, feels abandoned/betrayed/forgotten

Personally, I'd always assumed that their in-game interaction was simply based on the fact that they both have "hook" type abilities. But if Nautilus does have a connection to the Shadow Isles, then that could mean a connection with Thresh as well.
This is definitely an area for some interesting theory crafting.
why should there be a connection ? naut drowned maybe thresh took his soul too whatever but he is infected with some black goo stuff so maybe thats why he is connected to the shadow isles but whetever until rito doesnt release real info we can kick the bucket.
They correlate with each other, that's about it.
