@Riot, You Guys Said Summoners Still Exist In LoL. Any Update On What They Are Yet?

I'm really curious to hear what Riot's definition of a Summoner in post-retcon Runeterra is.

It's just that it's been a year and we've yet to hear anything concise, despite the promise that summoners still exist.

I think that the Serpent Callers are the closest thing to a Summoner in the new lore

I mean... they "Summon" Serpents... or something like that

Could actually be a new Role archetype that focus on siege tactics.

  1. Juggernaut
  1. Tank
  2. Fighter
  3. Assassin
  4. Mage
  5. Support
  6. Marksman
  7. Summoner

Who would be a Summoner?

  • the Serpent Caller: (replace Fizz) Why not? The Black Market Brawler minions are already set to be summoned by a Serpent Caller. Makes sense - can happen.
  • Zha'Kroth: (champion concept) The essence of the Void. Mutates and evolves minions and monsters, maybe.

Who else would become Summoners?

  • Annie: (may be kept as a Mage)
  • Azir: Summons his ... immortal slaves.
  • Heimerdinger: Summons his stationary turrets.
  • Zyra: Summon enchanted wildlife, stationary or mobile.
  • Malhazar: Summon Voidborn to besiege the corporeal world.
  • Fiddlesticks: A repurposed demon Fiddlesticks may sweep lanes with terror.
  • Yorick: A repurposed Yorick may include the essence of The Harrowing to sweep lanes.
  • Fizz: (removed from LoL because ugly)

Remind yourselves that you cannot win a match without reaching and destroying the Nexus. This new archetype can be the new variation of 'Mage AoE' (Mage vs Summoner). Their completely new playstyle may actually be the one major thing missing from this game!

#"playstyle missing from this game!"

rito pls....

You're the summoner. It's like The Neverending Story.

They summon the unfortunate heroes from around the realm, whether they were shopping, sleeping or taking a dump, onto the Summoner's Rift to fight as Pokemons.

The "champions" then fight hard with blood and sweat because they are told that the only way to get out is through destroying the enemy team's nexus.

Even though after the first group summoners is pleased with the entertainment and thus has since left and do something else, another pack logs onto the "League of Legends". And so the champs are still unable to leave and are forced to keep fighting for summoners' pleasure.

It all makes sense now.
