Mecha Zero Sion hype=killed

Rito, I love you guys. You release sweet content, are epic in most of your ideas, and have the most popular game in the world. As of late, however, you are going downhill some. Partly because of URF not being released when expected, maybe partly because you have to put the nerf hammer on some other's favorite champs. I don't care though, I know you are a big company, and companies do what they need to do to thrive and do well. However, there is one thing in specific that I'd like to discuss. Mecha Zero Sion (MZS) had some serious hype. I felt it, all Sion mains felt it, even people who don't play Sion felt it. Then 6.7 came out and it was then I think it peaked. I was estatic and stayed up a couple nights in excitement for the release. When it didn't come, the hype started to die down some, then it died down a lot soon after. Now we have those dew who are trying to hang on (like me) to the hype of MZS and it leaves us wondering... where is it? Riot, if you could even confirm if it is coming out on a certain week, I'm sure the hype will revive again and you'd see a great release for this epic skin. It would be nice, after all, since we all have been dying to get it.

Just to let the readers of this post know, I think nothing less of the awesomeness that MZS has, I just think it will a lot less thrill to actually get it.

Unpopular conspiracy theory: They are waiting for the Draven Day Free Skins with Legendary Purchase to end because when MZS comes out a shit load of people will buy it and they'll lose a lot of money on the free mystery skins.

They know what they're doing and they're doing it on purpose. There's a very specific reason as to why they don't give a fuck either. They have the animated log in screen to fall back on. Even if every one forgets it exists, they can just use the legendary skin's log in screen when its released to remind every one that it exists. It would be an entirely different story if it didn't have one though, hence why they released the Project skins early.

yeah its totally lost hype. March 21, 2016 was when rito released the teaser for the skin and 3 weeks later, almost a month and no skin.

I still want it, but my itchy purchase finger has stopped spazing. Honestly, if it comes out today, or tomorrow, or next week, I might not even notice. I suppose the log in screen will remind me, but as I said the impulse urge to buy is gone entirely. I still want it, don't get me wrong, but that gotta have it now feeling has passed. If I feel this way, and other people in this post feel this way, then that means it's not just a few people. They will not get the sales they would have. That is a fact. Maybe it will still be a successful release, but it just cannot be as successful as it could have been. That's just the way it works. Sega Dreamcast anyone?

It was very poor marketing on their part. I understand the potential loss of revenue. People were going to buy it regardless of the Axe Special. The event was to encourage people to buy stuff they other wise would not have. But I think they overlook the extra purchases of Mecha Sion they may have gotten because of the event. Or maybe I'm wrong, and they totally crunched the numbers. But none of that matters, the fact is they ruined their own self created hype. The skin was leaked, that created hype. Then they announced it's release with 6.7 that created more hype. Then people thought they would get a free skin with it, more hype. Then they killed some of that hype by saying the event would end first. Hype returns, however, as the end of the Axe Event comes....and then goes. And now it's been days since it ended, no skin, and no word from Rito about it. Hype falling fast guys. Like the draining life bar of Glory in Death, it can only be sustained for so long, and then it's dead.

Conclusion: poor marketing. Someone's gonna lose their job.

They released the other skins on the patch date meaning give it at least one more day and it should come out.
